Customers express satisfaction with the 9' VR Extension Cable, particularly its length, which enhances their playing experience. The cable is compatible with both HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, and its price point of $20 is considered reasonable. However, some users have encountered compatibility issues, specifically with ASUS computers, and signal strength concerns when using a DisplayPort adapter to HDMI.

Got a chance to try out yesterday, worked without any issues using a GTX 1070, it seems the pascal cards have less issues in regards to using hdmi extenders than maxwell.

Works great, but heavier than expected

This extension cable worked perfectly for me. It is a doubled-up cable (as you can see in the pictures) unlike the single cable coming out of the Oculus, so it has a little extra weight / drag to it. Very sturdy cable and firm connections, not worried about it breaking under normal use.

I read a few reviews on here and i thought that they were using old usb support for the extension cables. well i have the recommend Oculus Inateck Super-speed 7 Ports PCI-E to USB 3.0 Expansion Card that they recommend to get and these cables still didn't work so i went back to the cables that i had that Oculus recommended "they are a little shorter" that's why i bought the longer Insignia cables. before Insignia post on here they should do an investigation on these cables they simply don't work. was tested with the USB Card and a GTX 1070 if you are thinking about buying them just dont.

I found this cable works perfectly with the right set-up. For example, it didn't work on my older SabreTooth 990FX R2.0 board but works without any issue on my MSI X370 XPower Titanium board with VR Boost.

Will not work with Oculus CV1

I recently bought the Oculus CV1 under the "Summer Bundle", along with this cable to do room scale VR. The cable appears well constructed, and I like that it integrates the HDMI and USB into one cable. Price was right at $20. However, upon hooking it up at home, I found that the HDMI will not work over the extension cable. I have a brand new Nvidia 1080Ti card.

This product seems very hit or miss. In my case, it was a miss. It's the story that so many have had - sound, but no video.
This is on an EVGA GTX 1080 and testing with both my motherboard USB 3.0 and one of the Oculus recommended Inateck USB 3.0 PCIE cards.
Not recommended - it doesn't reliably do what it is designed to do.

Green flashes and snow with Oculus

While using the cable, there is green pixel "snow" everywhere and green horizontal lines that flash occasionally in my Oculus. It isn't very prominent while something is on the screen, but very noticeable on black/dark screens. I'm going to try to get another cable to confirm if this is an isolated incident or not.

Hi! These snow-like pixel effects, missing video lines or in some cases a totally black screen is normally due to the fact that there is a degraded HDMI signal and/or in some cases not enough USB power available to the Oculus headset. If these effects cannot be seen after the extension cable is removed, it means that your setup is already operating at the maximum cable length that your graphics card and USB power are capable of. Please ensure that your PC and graphics card meet the minimum recommended configuration by Oculus. in addition to this, you could consider installing an additional USB 3.0 card in your PC to provide full power to the headset. Waste of money

I bought this cord for the same reason as everybody else. This cord completely fails and unable to use. It can't handle the signal rate put out by the VR system and ends up making the headgear flash on demanding games.

Took a chance on this but as many others have discovered this cable either flat out doesn't work (black screen) or produces artifacts and snow on the screen. DO NOT BUY!

Hello! The presence of snow-like pixel effects, missing video lines or in some cases a totally black screen points to a degraded HDMI signal and in some cases, inadequate USB power available to the Oculus headset. If these effects are not present when the extension cable is removed, it means that your setup is already operating at the maximum cable length that your particular graphics card and USB power is capable of. Make sure that your PC and graphics card meet the minimum recommended configuration by Oculus. You may also consider installing an additional USB 3.0 card in your PC to provide full power to the headset. Regards, Daniel T. - Insignia Support
