Neither worked in adptor mode and in converter mode, yiy can only use it for 10-15 minutes, which you only find out if you read the manual. I would recommend getting the manual plug adaptor sold by Insignia as it worked with no issues or another brand.

I paid for the tv and shipping. Now as an electrician I know they- the tv don’t draw much power so given the size of this converter I believe it to be enough. I plug it in and in a couple of minutes my tv goes to smoke along with the $600 I spent on it. Went to Best Buy and even though the tv is in my account the guy at the store said bring back the tv and will see what we can do…. Tv is 10000 miles away. Pictures were not enough so I got screwed. Don’t buy this product

Only after I returned from my visit and returned to Best Buy did I learn that the third spoke had to be flipped open. The instructions should have included that fact. Fortunately, I was able to find what I needed from Amazon before my trip. The Best Buy item is a waste of money.

It failed to step down the voltage and resulting in a rather expensive hairdryer popping. Not only was the hairdryer a loss, but another capable hairdryer was purchased on day 1.
