Outlets typically have a switch next to them. This device shuts off that switch when trying to plug it in. Simply a design flaw. Do not buy.

I will return it when I get back to the US and will need to come up with another alternative solution while I am here in business. Awful experience.

It not only overheated, but then stopped working. I eventually went out and purchased cables to adapt the power from US to EUR power. Don't waste your time purchasing this product.
