It could be user error and I had no idea what I was doing but my wife couldn't get it to work either. Maybe we're both challenged! The USB ports worked very well.

A fine little adaptor

On my second time abroad with it, the pins didn't seem to stay out completely on their own in the locking postion. So I don't expect it to last too long sadly, but it was not too expensive either.
