Power cord wouldn't stay in. Volume buttons and radio station selection buttons hard to push, whole panel would move. Disc buttons uneven, wouldn't work properly. Digital view panel only show partial lettering. Inferior materials used. Won't buy again. Very disappointed that this a product that Best Buy would sell.

Sound is good. Syncs easily. A little pricey for quality.

My parents got a lot of cd they love it my parents are 68 and 67 but the sound is very good hard to find new not in a Is thrift store My mom uses it every day.

Just when I thought I found a suitable replacement for my Sony CDF-S36 CD Radio Cassette-Corder, was I woefully disappointed. First of all, I was taken aback by the quality of the ‘push’ buttons on the control panel. Some buttons were uneven and others, cock-eyed. Nevertheless, they still seemed to work when I pressed them to startup the ‘Boom’ box. Then I observed an excessive rectangular cut-out for the optical reader, a less than optimal design solution which will probably shorten the life of the CD player as dust and other airborne particles begin to easily accumulate inside the unit. But the most glaring concern, hands down, is the quality of sound or lack thereof! When I turned on the unit for the first time, it seemed as though it was still packed inside the box. The ‘muffled’ resonance is awful. It’s neither crisp nor clear and it also fails to produce the nominal highs and lows that are essential for any music appreciation. My previous boom box had cost $70.00 (in 2001) and had a ‘mega’ bass and ‘mega’ expand sound setting but who would have thought there would have been much of a difference for a unit that is now $10.00 less after 20 years of improved technology? As a discerning audiophile, had I taken the time to listen to the ‘Boom’ box in the store instead of buying it online, it might have stayed there. But if you're still skeptical and find this review overly critical, then, by all means, buy it. However, do yourself a favor. Find a pair of decent computer speakers and plug them into the rear jack for the earphones. Fortunately, I had a pair of older Creative I-Trigue 2300, 18-watt 2.0 computer speakers (which cost me $40.00 in 2007) that I hooked up to the unit and now it sounds almost as good as my old Sony! So, for now, I’ll keep the ‘Boom’ box but if it craps out at any time during my Best Buy two-year protection plan, I’ll gladly return it for an upgrade . . .

This boombox worked fairly well; however, it is now 5 months since purchase (only 5 months) and it has stopped working. I have no faith that the company will honor he warranty. If they do, I'll write a better review, but I can't right now.

It is hard to find a compact AM/FM, CD and cassette and this checks those boxes. Fine as radio but not suitable for big sound at an outdoor party. Looks like a cheap mini boom box.

Works just fine. Very pleased. Bluetooth is ok. It should have a better antenna

When I initially pulled this from the box, I noticed the buttons on the top were not even lined up straight on the unit (see picture). It appeared cheaply made. Upon playing a cassette tape, the player fed the tape too quickly through the unit, playing it too fast. The player did the same with another tape. Then, it played the same two tapes just fine. The sound on the unit was 'tinny' and simple. I am disappointed that Best Buy backs this brand.

I was so excited to buy this item because I have a cassette tape that is really sentimental that I wanted my son to hear. The tape recorder worked for one week and then just stopped. I am very dissatisfied with it. This was an out of the box item that was tested in-store; therefore, I did not expect it to die on me.

I over spent by about $30. Very bright display light is on constantly and must be unplugged to turn it off. Sound is bassy muted and not adjustable.

Good unit to playback old cassette tapes and CDs. Decent sound for what it is. Could have better bass but overall it brings long-forgotten music media back to life. Purchased for an elderly family member to relive old memories of singing. The front controls are small and a bit hard to read for old eyes but fortunately there's not many buttons to deal with. It would be nice to have a see-through cassette player door but it's easy enough to just press play and let the good times roll. It comes with a carry handle for portability and fits nicely on a small table or shelf. It's also light enough to set on your lap. Bluetooth connectivity is handy as is the standard 3.5mm headphone jack for private wired headphone listening. Would have given this review 5 stars but the price was a bit much for something that in my opinion, should cost less. I guess it's the price you pay for an item not readily available elsewhere. Nice little boombox though!

It was open box but when I opened it there was no remote as shown on the picture. Also inside is strangely open. I think I need a different one.

Nice little boombox! Lightweight, good features including headphone jack and 10 radio presets. Cds and tapes play fine. Good volume but poor tone. Everything sounds muddy especially at low volume. Good headphones help but definitely limited by boombox. Same headphones sound better plugged into phone or laptop. Still worth it compared to what's out there. Not too many cd/cassette/radios available! Plus Insignia is a Best Buy brand so it's widely available and supported.

Very nice product with many features. Cassette deck and bluetooth/aux in are all as loud as radio when playing. Radio antenna picks up stations well. Sound is clear at higher (not highest) volume number. Good enough to carry over a hot tub blower running. 2 drawbacks...everything is push button for every function. I see future issues with that. Also the back hole where the AC cord plugs into is frail. It broke off back into the boombox and is quite a pain to use now. It has 6 months left on warranty

For the price, this is a good boombox. It has very good sound. The cassette, CD, and radio works very well. There are a few things I wish were different. I was hoping it had a real rod antenna rather than a limp wire type. I would prefer pushbuttons that were easy to push. The buttons require much pressure to activate. I also wish there was a remote as those did some twenty years ago. Overall it is a good unit with good quality. I would buy another one.

Excellent Bluetooth hooked up on my laptop to my favorite radio station on line! It’s portable so I can sit outside with it. I like the CD record player for my old time favorite or new tunes also! It takes 6 size D batteries so you can bring it with you outside for an evening picnic, too!

I wanted an inexpensive boombox that would have pretty good sound. I wanted it to have a radio, CD playing capacity, and if it could play my old cassette tapes, so much the better. This little boombox does all of that. Of course the sound is not like what it would be on a fancier set up. But this is simple to operate , doesn’t take much space, And is versatile. I’m really really happy with it.
