Customers admire the Amplified Thin Film Indoor HDTV Antenna's excellent reception, ease of use, and picture quality. Many appreciate its ability to pick up a large number of channels and its simple installation. While some users experienced weaker signals depending on their location and building materials, the antenna's compact size and affordability were frequently praised. Overall, the positive feedback on performance and ease of setup outweighs the concerns about signal strength in certain situations.

I bought this HDTV antenna to "cut the cord" from DirecTV, DISH, and Comcast. Installation is a breeze, 5 minutes + 10 minutes for channel programming. I am fairly surprised and quite happy with my decision and with this antenna unit. Thus far, I only set it up right by and on the same level as the TV and receive a horde of channels that I normally watched when subscribing to the aforementioned 3 providers. In addition to the network channels (abc, cbs, fox, nbc, pbs) and the long-time local channels (2, 20), I also get CourtTV, Comet TV, Charge TV, Grit TV, Mystery, COZI TV, True Crime Network, Light TV, this TV, Get TV, H&I (Heroes & Icons), Antenna TV, Movies!, Decades, Stadium (the sports-oriented channel), ion, and best of all, even MeTV (one of my favorites although it's kinda on and off with the signal). Basically, I only watched old-time shows/movies from the 60s, 70s, and 80s and forensic-oriented shows, and these channels provided exactly the types of TV shows what I wanted. Don't care for today's TV shows (too PC/boring for me.) I've been wondering why I did not switch earlier/sooner. I even think that if I put up the antenna higher, I may even get more channels or more consistent signals as some of the listed channels don't always show up, but this easily beat paying $150/month for cable/satellite TV that I've been paying for the past 20 years! I purchased 2 of them, one in my office, and one in the kitchen for my wife. Note: these channels are NOT true 1080 HD, and may be 720 at best, if that. Still, I highly recommend this antenna for those thinking of aborting the expensive cable/satellite providers. For those living in the Greater Denver area, go to ontvtonight.com for Denver TV Guide listing for the TV shows that are available on these channels that I listed above.

Easy to install, picked up 40 channels some I didn’t even knew existed and all came in HD quality! If you’re tired of paying $200 bucks a month BUY this and buy it now! I already canceled my cable! Only WiFi and this antenna! Oh and I already order 2 more! Get you one!!

Great little antenna! Easy to put up and love that one side is black and the other side is white. Very versatile, smart design! To hang it we propped it up with 3 small nails. It sits in between the nails, not puncturing the device. The top nail has a larger flat head to hold the antenna in place. We didn't like the idea of using the adhesive pads it came with. It doesn't get all the channels all the time. One channel doesn't come in at all, but I think if we moved the antenna it would. We have a bigger antenna on a different TV that was twice the price and much harder to put up. It does have better reception. This is a great antenna for the price and ease of use!

I don't think I've used an "antenna" with a television since the early 1980's. About two years ago I realized that I was paying well over $200/month for Verizon Fios internet and television but rarely watched anything except the news, netflix, and Amazon Prime. So I took the plunge and cut the cable. I've got a 75 inch 4K Samsung smart TV and use AppleTV as my streaming app.
Best Buy had this Insignia thin film indoor HDTV antenna on sale for $15 and thought it might be fun to see if it actually worked at all - and to be 100% honest, I expected to spend 30 minutes playing with it and then toss it in the trash - especially since my TV room is in the basement of the house.
Talk about exceeding expectations - WOW!! It took about 4 minutes to hook it up. I just set it in the window (in the basement) and told me TV to auto discover any stations. It took about 60 seconds or so and came back with 49 channels. OK, so there's a lot of channels - probably snowy fuzzy picture with lots of static and maybe a few that would fill the full 75 inches but with a resolution that would make you sick in the stomach. But again I was wrong - WOW! I just took two pictures with my cellphone - one of a random station that happened to be on and the other with the channel guide that shows you what's on!
So since I'm not throwing it away I had to "install" it for real. The instructions suggest you go to www.antennaweb.org . If you enter your address it'll show you which stations you'll get facing different directions (you can use the compass app on your iphone to see where 59 degrees is, for example). After doing that I took the thin film thing to the highest floor in my house, chose a room that let me stick it a wall and be "generally" facing the optimal direction (probably a few degrees off). I mounted the thing on the wall using the provided two sided tape, under the curtain valence so it's not even visible. I connected the 10' thin, flexible cable provided with the antenna to a cable outlet in that room and connected the cable outlet in the TV room (in the basement) to the TV and ran the channel scan on the TV again and discovered 50+ channels.
Then I spent a little time deleting the non-English channels, a couple that had a pixelated reception, some liberal news channels and sat back and watched. It was really that easy!
Now the bad news. After spending 18 months watching nothing but netflix, prime, disney+, and a few others I had forgotten how painful sitting through 15 minutes of commercials ever hour was ... yuk! The other bad news - there still isn't anything on TV worth watching. BUT, I have great HD quality pictures and can watch Dennis the Menace, MASH, Magnum PI, and lots of other TV if I want to and it only cost me $15. I've already purchased one for each of my children who cut the cable in their homes as well.

The Insignia Amplified Thin Film Indoor HDTV Antenna - Black/White is a good investment. If you are constantly replacing indoor antennas because you cannot get a clear picture or you have to constantly get up and move the antenna, then the Insignia Thin Indoor Antenna is the right one for you. I was skeptical when I took it out the box, but once I connected it to my TV and the picture screen was super clear, I was convinced. I thought because the antenna was light weight, it would not give me a quality reception. The two colors lets you decide which one suits your decor but it really doesn't matter the Insignia Thin Indoor HDTV Antenna works the same "GREAT" no matter which side you display. I was so impressed with the clarity of my TV, I purchased an additional one for the TV in my kitchen.

It works as advertised. I have placed it high up on an outside wall next to a slider. I placed the antenna lead next to the trim of the slider and tacked it in place. The main thing is that it works as it said it would and I get all the channels I wanted and then some.

Not my favorite antenna. There are two chords (a black chord to plug into the outlet and a white chord to plug into the tv). My previous antenna only had one chord to directly connect to the tv and worked well (for 5 years). The new antenna had less connections to channels and was missing one of the main channels (ABC). I auto searched 4 times and placed the antenna somewhere different each time, but i wasn’t getting the results i wanted. The antenna is ultra thin. I thought it would be a sleek thin stiff plastic board, but it is a flimsy plastic sheet kinda like a plastic binder? The sheet stands upright, but i don’t know how long that will last in it’s lifetime. And the last thing is that I wish the antenna came in completely black as an option because the white chord shows on dark furniture. I’m sure i can find a way to disguise the white chord, but there’s also just too much juggling of criss crossing chords. Unfortunately I want to like the antenna, but will be returning the item. This review is in hopes that somehow Insignia may develop an upgraded sleek and clean version of this antenna sometime in the near future.

This was one of three units I was looking at. Happy with this item. Easy to set up, including programming the antenna didn't take but 20 minutes. A bit shaky picture when the wind blows hard but that is from the sender. I opted for the black side instead of the white side showing.

We installed on top of a bookcase near a window, away from our Wi‑Fi router and the picture is wonderful. We tried another that was a real failure before buying this one.
