Hard to plug in to car cigarette port

I went to best buy and bought this charger thinking it would do, but it was really hard to plug into the port. Like really hard. I felt I was going to break the charger and if not my charger, then my cigarette port thing. Then it would continously charge then not charge so I returned it.

Cord is a little short.
