Don’t buy, this destroys phone batteries

I have an iPhone 6 in excellent condition. I bought this cord a couple of months ago to replace my original charger cord, since it was frayed by the head of the cord. It worked just fine for a couple of weeks but then I started having issue where my phone wouldn’t recognize it was plugged in. I would have to unplug and re-plug it several times for it to even be recognized by the device. By this time, I started to notice that my battery was draining faster and faster between charges. I figured it was the charger base because this cord was new so it shouldn’t be the problem. I tried changing out the charger base thinking it might be a faulty base but that didn’t help. I tried a friend’s apple charger base as well. No matter where I plug in this cord, my phone doesn’t charge or even recognize it’s plugged in. I also tried using a friend’s apple charging cord to see if it was just my phone’s charging port being faulty and it charged just fine. My phone recognized that cord immediately and didn’t give me any issues. Now my battery lasts 20 mins before reaching 40% on a full charge. I had to buy a replacement battery since this cord destroyed my phone’s original battery and now I’m stuck with a useless cord that won’t charge any of my apple devices. I ended up having to fish my old broken cord out of the garbage because that’s the only cord that will actually charge my phone now. It’s cheap and might work for a few weeks but buyer beware, unless you have extra cash to buy new phone batteries with.

    "not supported" accessory

While we all seem to think that the IEEE standard for lightning cables is consistent, it is not so much. I bought this "private label" version from BestBuy trusting that their buyers would have vetted this as being a "compatible" or "recognizable" cable for my iOS device. I use an iPhone 6sPlus all up to date. The cable seems to charge my phone "OK" (not as fast as I had hoped) which would be tolerable if I didn't get an annoying "this accessory may not be supported" error message, after which, it seems to disconnect. I have to unplug it and plug it back in. At $20 for a 3 foot cable, this is only five or six dollars less than the Apple version, and in this sense, it is NO bargain. If I could return it and swap for the Apple branded version, or a version that was "certified" Apple compatible, I would do so in an instant. This belies an attitude of the BestBuy buyers that even if customers like me buy this and have a bad experience, at twenty bucks, we won't take the time to bring it back. Actually a good bet. But a horrible brand experience, and erodes my trust in both BestBuy as a trusted partner, and in their house brands in general. Fail.

    Garbage...Stopped working on third day

I purchased this as a back-up charging cable. It stopped charging my phone after three days. I usually buy super cheap cables at night markets in Thailand, so I'm used to them not working after a short period of time. I was getting one from best buy so that I'd have a "dependable" one to use. You'd think you'd be getting a higher quality product for the higher price, but apparently not. I'll use it to bind books together so they won't shift around in my luggage on the return trip. Then, I'll at least be getting some use out of it. Perhaps there will be someone behind me who keeps kicking my seat. I can use the cable to bind his/her feet together. The cable should be long enough for that. I'll do what it takes to get my money's worth. Unfortunately, it won't be used for charging my phone.

When I plug this Apple lightening cord into my Apple iPhone 6+ at night, to charge up my iPhone overnight, I wake up in the morning and find my phone slightly less charged than it was when I plugged this charger cord into it the night before. So I re-plug it in again and wait 5 minutes to see if it is charging. Usually it is not charging yet, so I re-plug it in again ... and again ... until finally it shows, after 5 minutes, that it is starting to charge the phone. This cord is only several months old; the iPhone 6+ is several years old. Since the lightening cord worked faithfully for the first month I owned it, and then quickly degraded in performance, I blame the cord, not the iPhone 6+.

I have had many knockoff iPhone charging cords over the years, but for some reason, I have nothing but trouble with this cord. I have had it less than 2 months and for the past few weeks, I will randomly get warnings on my phone that say "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably." and my phone won't charge to save its life. Before I was experiencing these issues, I was noticing that my phone was taking twice as long to charge than if I used an official Apple cord. There were a couple nights where it actually drained my battery and I woke up to a dead phone. I know the cord is the problem because I was using an official Apple charging plug with this cord.

I bought my charger in June and I used it once, when I went to use it again it said the charger was not certified and would not work. GRRRR!!! The return policy is 15 days so theres no way that I can return it. The charger that I was using split and this was suppose to be my backup. Wth am I going to do now?!! I only used it once and now its not working. I have tried putting it in different ports on my laptop and even plugged it into a charging cube... still nothing! Im a mother on a budget and theres no way that I can be purchasing a new charger over and over.

I bought the wrong item because it says iPad on b

There was no salesperson anywhere around the computer section. The power cord for my iPad was badly frayed. I needed help and there was none. I really looked for a person in a Blue Shirt, but only found fellow customers. I needed guidance and help. 4 foot cord sounded great for me. Simply put, I bought the wrong item. The box says iPad! Got home and was told I bought the wrong item. The trip was salvaged as husband can use this cord for his phone. I still need a cord for my iPad. Will go out again on another day when Best Buy blue shirted people are working. The cashiers had a staff but not the selling floor.

An employee at Best Buy highly recommended this and I'm sorry I listened. It worked twice and then didn't work again. Whether it's faulty or not, Best Buy won't take it back because of their 14 day return policy. So I spent $12 plus another $20 for the genuine Apple cord. Wish I had just listened to my gut and purchased the best one first. I've had other Insignia products before that were fine, but now I'd second guess buying their products.

I like this cord for the first two months, then after that my phone doesn't recognize it as a charging device, it stops charging, and I have to unplug and plug it in multiple times. It's not reliable after the first two months. I've even left it in one room in my house, avoiding moving it from room to room so that it doesn't hurt the wires. I have experienced this happening with two different cords.

Extremely slow on both iphone and ipad

    Nostromo

I've had this cord for a few months. At first, everything was OK. But within the last week, it's been extremely slow charging both iphone and ipad. A full eight hours of charging on ipad gets this to only about 40%. I get about 60% on iphone. Doesn't matter what charging source I'm using, this is extremely slow. I have the regular iphone charger at home (I'm on vacation, and brought this one with me), and that is 100% faster.

I lost my iPad charger in Belize on Vacay. I purchased this charger. It charges so slow most likely because apple doesn't want people to buy non-apple products. I would return it but I threw out the box and receipt when I plugged it in and saw that it worked. Fast forward 2 hours later I was only on 10 percent. 50 percent after charging all night. :-( Not Best Buy's fault but still disappointing.

I call myself saving money and buying this cord for $5 less than the Apple cord. The cord worked for a few weeks, then stopped working. Now the cord does not charge or sync anymore, so I had to spend an additional $20 to get a cord that works. I will not buy another off brand lightning cord for my Apple products.

    A crooked Lightning Cable

The cable was cheap and I thought it would be good but I was wrong. It has to be inserted at an angle to work and must stay there and doesn't grip the phone so will easily fall out just enough to stay in the phone but not enough to charge it. So your phone could remain there for hours appearing to be charged but it's actually not. I guess you sadly get what you pay for.

I had a lot of third-party chargers in my lifetime with various Apple phones but this one is the worst. The only way I can have my phone read is by restarting it then the cord will allow a connection other than that it will read “device not recognized”

I bought this cord on April 21, 2018. It stopped working this week. So it barely lasted a month. Even Apple cords hold up better than this. I'm NOT happy that I wasted nearly $20 for basically a month of charging. Hopefully, it can be returned for another. Maybe this one was defective, but, if not, then this cord just plain sucks.

The instructions on the sweeper indicated that it would complete a charge and the indicator light would stop flashing when the charge was completed. The flashing never stops and though the sweeper works, it's very annoying to have a flashing light on the sweeper.

Purchased an apple product as opposed to another and did so because I thought it would be worth the extra cost .... turns out it was not ? Bought this for my son who specifically requested an Apple charger .. maybe 3 weeks ago ... and he tells me tonight it’s not working! Not at all what I would have expected.

Over the years I purchased numerous Apple product lightening cables. All have stopped working after a short time. Last time I spent double on an Apple cable which works well. For some reason the non-Apple cables are junk.
