Plugged it in to my Windows 8.1 desktop and it was good to go. Works great with my BT ThinkPad keyboard an my headphones.

If your desktop doesn't have Bluetooth I highly recommend the Insignia - Bluetooth 4.0 USB Adapter. It works with up to 8 devices.

Although this version is about $10 more than I would spend on Ebay, this one worked and it was already in town. Now my wife's laptop has bluetooth!

I bought this product to connect my PS3 controller to my computer, and after some fiddling and downloads, it did just that! It would probably have an easier time connecting with Xbox controllers since it's native, so if you have an Xbox controller, it should work flawlessly.

Very fast easy self explanitory instructions , great for your bluetooth needs . 20 bucks is a little on the high side but it gets the job done .

Trouble installing this due to my laptop not recognizing it. Took it to Best Buy and the Geek Squad was able to help me. Works great and very pleased.

I purchased this adapter so I could use headphones with my desktop and occasionally get up to do something else without worrying about cords. The connection is generally pretty reliable when sitting at my desk, but gets sketchy pretty quickly even with minor obstacles (e.g. my desk chair), whereas my phone, for example, will hold high-quality audio and a solid connection even through a few walls. It also refuses to let my tablet (a Surface Pro 3) send files, which has never been a problem with any other Bluetooth device of mine. This adapter may be suitable if you generally have a line-of-sight connection with the computer you want to connect to devices, but otherwise I would suggest shelling out a little more for a better adapter.
