Perfect for expanding existing connection
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a CAT5e cable coming from basement to a room and ending in an RJ-45 connector with not a lot of cable to spare. This coupler enabled me to attach another CAT5e cable and run it into another room, where I set up a network switch and am now able to run multiple devices with the benefit of the wired connection. I used another one in a similar situation in another part of the house. It's obviously a plug and play device and couldn't be easier to use.

Amazing!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an unbelievably complicated piece of equipment, and yet it was so easy to install and use. The jack on each end looks the same, begging the question, which one is the "in" versus the "out." Thankfully, due to my superior intuition with respect to material objects I was able to get it working with ease. Hopefully I honored the laws of physics with respect to polarity in AC circuits such that there will not be too much build up of internal resistance over time.

Bridging Two Cat-5 Cables
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wall Ethernet jack is in an odd location. Basically, it's about as far away as it can be from anything that could use a hardwired connection. When I do need to run an Ethernet cord from my modem/router, this coupler comes in handy. I have a couple 25 foot Cat 5 Ethernet cables from my college dorm days and haven't had any problems daisy chaining them with this coupler.

Excellent product
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We went with an internet over power solution during the pandemic. The device came with some Cat-5 cables, but they were short. Cat-5 cables are still in high demand, so I was looking for a way to connect 2 of the short cables together and this worked great. I didn't see any slowness in my internet speed after using this device.

Nice Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was having issues with my WiFi router which would be getting fixed in a couple days, but we wanted to watch a movie that night. So we were able to use this to directly connect the outside wire to the TV line, and we were able to watch worry-free. Price is also good, and this product can be used in many other ways as well.

Insignia Cat 5/5e RJ-45 In-Line Coupler - Black
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This small device is being used in an old system, where I can't easily replace the network cable. I needed a few extra feet added to my network cable because of office changes. So this device acts as a coupler to extend a network cable. I bought this device, added a short network cable, and my problem was solved. This device works as intended with my old system, with no compatibility issues.

Exactly what I needed!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You don't see these things around very often anymore so I had a bit of a hard time finding one. Finally I went to Best Buy and they had them. I purchased two and used them to connect three ethernet cables together bc I needed more length and didn't want to spend money buying a longer cable when I have a box at home of standard sizes (since one usually comes with everything computer related that you buy these days). I was having trouble with a wireless device losing the WiFi signal and going out almost daily, so I decided to run a cable and just hard wire it the old fashioned way. They did the trick. They worked perfectly with no loss of signal anymore. My device stays on all the time. I was concerned that since I used more than one coupler it would affect the signal current but it doesn't. Moral of the story....being that we have and use so many wireless devices these days, go old school and use cheap couplers like this one to directly connect some of the devices in your home. At least the ones that you don't have to move around, like pc's, smart tv's, security cameras, etc. You will save money and reduce the strain on your wireless network by freeing up bandwidth. Sometimes when it comes to technology, as with many things in the world nowadays, newer isn't always better. So just hide the wires and do it the old fashioned way when you can. Then we can stop paying to constantly upgrade our Internet speed!

Ethernet Came up Short
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to run my ethernet connection to my work shop and my cat6 cable came up short. I have installed many ethernet connections, so adding a connector is not a big deal. But, I needed a coupler to complete the cable run. I picked up this coupler, installed it and it works great. I could not detect any signal loss, which can be an issue with substandard couplers. Good quality at a great price.
