This device is pretty straighforward. If you need a longer cable, and you have way too many CAT5 or 6 cables stored away and need/want to use them, but your network devices are a wee bit too far away from the router, this is a great purchase. Also, you don’t have to splice together your own custom length of CAT5 or 6 cable because you have this, instead!

I needed to extend my internet connection to another part of the room and I didn't have a long enough cable. I went to the Best Buy website and found this. It allowed me to extend my reach by adding another cable. The speed did not go down. The product works fine and offered me a nice solution to my problem.

At first I thought these were expensive... so I bought cheaper ones at Home Depot. Big mistake. If your looking to extend CAT5 for telephone then the cheap one probably will suffice. But if the CAT5 if for your Router then the cheap ones will drop your speed by 40 to 50%. This one had zero drop in internet speeds. Worth the extra cost.

This product worked like a charm to extend my internet cable. This could not have been any easier! Product is working great and I'm very happy with the item, as it works as advertised.

With this I can connect different length cables thereby if I only need a short connection it's available but if a longer one is needed it's available on connection as well. If I need 12 ft I can connect two 6 ft cables. If I need to I can connect a 6 ft and a 50 or 100 ft. Or two 50 ft cables or two 100 ft cables. Great for various options.

It is easy to use. The coupler seems to be durable .

Quick and easy connection to be able to extend cables.

I had to expand my office setup and it required me to use a hard wired connection to my internet vice a wireless modem. This easy to use coupler enabled me to use some cable I already had to make the process work simply and less costly.

Very simple way to extend CAT 5 cable length. Simply plug the male ends of two cables together and that's it. I used this because I couldn't get to the source end of the cable in my office without disassembling my desk. The Best Buy associate said this would not provide 1gb throughput on 1gb capable networks. I can not confirm.

Worked like a charm! Ethernet port behind a very heavy executive desk set up. Either take apart the desk in order to change out the cable for a longer one, or use this nifty little item. We'll worth the money in time and effort saved.

My computer is a distance from the router and as the house was built with the telephone and cable lines on two different parts of the room, this enabled me to tie into the router for faster internet without stretching cords in areas where one would walk

Due to a huge desk set in an office, and the cord under a huge rug UNDER the desk, moving the cord or outlet is not an option...without many hands. This coupler works perfectly to extend the current cable length and computer relocation. Great addition, and huge help!

Great little product to connect a short ethernet cable to another cabe. I haven't experienced any signal loss by using this product. Well worth buying.

This coupler was used to extend CAT5 cable and i have not had any issues since it was used. The cables were 100ft each, i have not experienced any signal loss.

I’m usually against using these, but it doesn’t do anything differently with the connection and it’s lasting. Usually items like these break. This is my second one and I’m still pleased. It’s cheaper to buy a few of these then a 50ft cable which isn’t necessary.
