Easy to use, very compact, light. Good sound . Reasonable price

This boombox was a great price arouns Christmas time last year. My daughter wanted a boombox to play all the case I have passed down to her recently. The sound is great is light weight and easy to bring from place to place. Best part is that it was so easy to use. It has been a year and we have had no problems or complaints. This product is well worth the money.

This product was exactly what I was looking for. It is compact and plays my cds perfectly and so far the battery life has been excellent . The sound and volume are great . I am quite pleased with it and had purchased it also for its radio which I might need during electrical failure during storms we face in south Florida . So I can recommend this highly.

Looked for a small cd boombox for our daughter's room at several places before deciding on this one. We are happy with our choice. It has good sound (for price point), stations come in good, small footprint, looks good, easy controls. Have had it for 6 months now, haven't had any problems with it. Overall a good buy.

So got this for the mother in law so she can listen to cd's as she sits outside. It is perfect size and has decent sound and the price was good as well. She can take it with her where she wants to go so it's perfect for her.

Small, compact CD Boombox. Easy to use and great sound.

We were looking for a small portable CD player, and this one fits the bill perfectly. The cord is a good length, and it’s nice to have battery option too. The radio is a bonus. Very pleased with purchase.

crisp, clear radio station reception every time, it is placed on an eye-level shelf and the control buttons are on the front---sooooo easy to see and operate, stereo sound in clear and loud----it is in a garage and the sound can be heard in any corner and even over the sounds of the street and any lawn mowers. A very satisfying purchase!

Got this as a gift for my dad and it’s perfect. It’s portable and plays all his CDs. And the sound on this thing is impressive! Radio stations come in clear too. Great buy!

Great sound Perfect the size and weight Very easy to use

A company should just make a Boombox that has one button that turns on and one that turns off. Boombox are not easily to work. To many buttons to turn on and off for CDs. Otherwise it works fine, sound is good. Also size is good not to big and not to small. I am 81, not up to date with all the new tech.

Great little cd boombox for a ridiculously low price. Almost identical to one we bought years and years ago and in still working...just a couple of electronic refinements and improvement. Transport is reliable, sound is quite good for what it is. Highly recommended unless you are an audiophile.

The Insignia CD Boombox worked well and reliably for me when I used it for long-distance driving in a rental car that had no installed CD player. PLEASE TAKE NOTE of these (2) comments in response to earlier reviewer comments: 1) The power cord plug-in connection is now snug and secure. I got AC power via an inexpensive auto shop AC inverter. This worked beautifully. 2) Reviewers reported that the boom box sound "cut out" at times. This happened to me when I had the boombox sitting on the upholstered passenger seat next to me. I quickly found the cause of this problem - the soft passenger seat upholstery was blocking a slotted cooling vent opening on the the bottom of the unit, so the periodic cut-out was from overheating. As a fix, I simply placed a harder, flatter material on the seat before placing the boombox on it. I first used one side of a corrugated box that I cut to fit the seat area. Later, I went "deluxe" with a plastic lid to a small storage container. The perimeter lip of this lid held the boombox in place so it wouldn't slide during a sharp turn in the car. That was all it took. I gave this boombox 5 stars because of its combination of reliability and price. It is not a 100W Hi-Fi system, but the sound was good enough to entertain me for MANY days in that car. It is also a straight-forward to operate. I give my highest praise to Insignia for this compact, very reasonably-priced and well-thought-out mobile entertainment system.

I bought this for my wife, who listens to a lot of books on CD. It is very easy to use. Best feature is when you pause and before you shut it off, it displays what chapter is on, so you don't have to go "searching" when you go back to the book. It also has a great sound for music CD's--and you can get AM/FM radio. This is the second unit we bought.

I purchased this for my dad to listen to CD's and the radio in his room at the Nursing Home. The staff said that it sounds good, fits nicely on the nightstand and is easy to use. I'm happy with the purchase.

Bought this to replace a similar Insignia unit that had started intermittent power up issues. (Naturally, post warranty) My wife uses it in the garage while doing laundry. Reception is adequate for FM, and the volume can exceed what is necessary. An average unit for an average price. Time will tell whether it is durable or not.

Good cd boombox Small but good Great for playing those old CDs

I am a CD collector but I recently moved and left my old CD player at home for my family to continue using. I didn't mind buying another one and saw good reviews for this CD boombox. I was a little excited too because this one was nicer than my previous one. So disappointed to find that it doesn't really work. It will turn on, access the radio, play CDs, etc. but only for ~10 minutes. It turns off and on sporadically, and sometimes will be in a state between on and off, where the screen light is on, but won't do anything and it can't be turned off properly or on. When it's like that, I have to unplug it from the wall and wait a few minutes for the screen to turn off, but then it might not turn back on properly afterwards, going back to the previous state between on and off. It's so strange. I thought perhaps it was the fault of my outlets, but even after putting batteries in, it did the exact same thing. When listening to the radio or using the aux, the CD boombox would turn off suddenly but the music will continue a little bit after where it stopped (of course) after I turn it back on: annoying, yeah. This issue is incredibly frustrating when listening to CDs, however, which is the entire reason I bought the thing. When the boombox turns off suddenly, even if I can almost immediately turn it back on, the CD will start over from the beginning. I can skip ahead to the song it left off on, of course, but it's so inconvenient since I will usually be busy doing something else and just want to listen to my music at the same time. I've had the boombox for over a month now, and it's probably only worked properly once that whole time, around 3 weeks into my ownership. I was able to play a few CDs uninterrupted for ~5-6 hours. That was the first time I had been able to listen to a full CD without fussing with the power button. It was nice and I liked the sound the boombox produced in my not particularly large room. It was with that hope that it would start working properly that I kept it and kept trying to use it. But I've had it for just under 6 weeks now and it has never done that again. I like the boombox a lot, the sound and size are perfect for my purposes, but it just doesn't work which is so frustrating. You get what you pay for, I suppose. Naturally, by the time I've given up on it, the return window has already closed. Ugh. And I like the boombox! I would honestly just want an exchange if I had managed to get a crappy one since it seems to work for almost everyone else. Back to the drawing board.
