If you need a radio, like fm/am, this is about all you're going to find that is available. it sounds good, is small and portable, and also has cd and cassette. like old radios, there's a fair amount of static but it serves it purpose

I need to play a music cassette; I could not get the music except on cassette. This limited my selection options, and as a result I expected a low-end product when I purchased this boombox. I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of sound, and the features of the player. This boom box has exceeded all my expectations, and at a very reasonable price.

I must say I was hesitant to buy this in the beginning because I thought this will be another junkie stuff, based on the price. But the sound is really good, stations easy to set. I did not give it a 5☆ only because though you can see the station digitally, you have to push buttons to power it on and choose whatever you want to do. And boy, what hard buttons to push. But this is a very minor issue since everything is good or above good - that is for reception and sound. I thought I will get an item made of cheap material but this is not.

It's pretty new and I am still learning how to program for the best efficiency. Would give it 5 stars if I had been using it to the full extent of its potential. So far, I love it--great sound and pretty easy to operate.

I like the way it plays CD's. They are held firmly. I do not use batteries so the unit is very light. The push buttons are hard to press without the whole unit moving a great deal. I may but some dead weight inside the case.

Bought this for our 7 year old. It's easy to use and sounds really good. We're disappointed it didn't have features that we assumed it would: no remote, no clock/alarm, no bass/treble adjustment.

It has good sound for the CD player. The radio is a little hard to find a good station and may need a better antennae. I have not used the cassette player yet but expect the sound to be good also.

I bought this for camping and was very surprised that there was still a device that contained a cassette player as well as a CD player. I have had a bunch of old cassette tapes just laying around with no way to play them. the sound from this unit is very good for a portable device and will work just fine for my needs!

I have lots of old tapes I haven't played or heard in years. I haven't burned all my old cd's to mp3 either. I bought for that purpose as well as the portability factor. Radio reception could be better it gets fairly loud, almost no bass output, but at this price point that was expected. It takes 6 D batteries (not included) when not plugged into an outlet, it will be interesting to see how long they last.

Sound is good although not quite enough treble for my taste. Good features and easy to use. Radio stays in tune, unlike a retro model boombox I had recently.

Bought this unit for my in laws and they really enjoy it. It is very simple to operate and the sound is very good. We recommend it for folks looking for a simple solution to music.

A good design and quite easy function with the controls. The volume is louder then what I needed to fill the room . The sound quality is excellent in the entire volume range. I have an older unit that was 19 yrs when it stopped playing the CD's. IF this works as long it'll live up to the insignia name.

This was a gift for a friend who is in a Nursing Home. This was the perfect item that I wanted for him.The radio works great, the CD, cassette tape all work. Volume, etc. work well. There is a wire antenna that comes with it that I have taped to the metal strip on the wall. It is small enough to fit on his nightstand and there is still room for his bedside lamp and a small fan. Very pleased with this product.

This is a great buy, however, I’m not sure how to use the antenna on it. The CD player works very well, but I can’t get all the stations I bought it for.

The overall tone is pretty good for the price. Just wanted to have a simple CD/cassette/radio player for our backyard patio. It fits the bill and is very light and easy to use. I really liked the option of batteries or plug-in. It plays the CDs and cassette with good sound and I have had no problems with skipping etc.

Needed a basic boom box that older people could easily learn to use that played cassettes and CDs as well as the radio stations. Fit the need.

I bought this to be able to listen to cassette tapes and CDs without needing a big system. Portable, good sound quality., easy to use.

My husband uses this while he's working in the garage. Good sound, nice look, good price, but the buttons are hard to press. I'm sure they will wear in.
