Try to find a reasonably-sized, all-in-one portable sound system that can handle CDs AND tapes (plus FM stereo radio). Not a lot to choose from these days now that cassettes are antique. Insignia fits the bill.

The boombox with CD and tape deck seems fine for the price. Usually this type of item takes time to really assess to see if all systems continue to perform well. I haven't used that much but as of now the sound is very good. It's buttons are not very easy to use, in other words it's not soft touch.

Wanted something small that I could carry and place anywhere and plays cds, cassettes and has a radio. And I can place it on the patio while relaxing outside. This item is perfect.

This is the second one we have purchased - compact - portable - and sounds good quality and reproduction of tapes and CD's. Very pleased and it is put to good use.

We picked this up for our 70+year old mother. She listens to a lot of books on tape plus has CD's on tape and this plays both It's lightweight so easy for here to move room to room Sound quality is OK hardly any bass but she doesn't rock out like us

I was lookig for a simple radio, CD, tape boom box for my garage and this unit works out to be perfect for me. Good sound, easy to operate.

The Insignia Boombox was a great purchase. We have an Insignia TV and it is a good TV. The Brand name is very dependable. The Boombox was easy to operate and has a good sound. Best Buy is a good place to purchase products because they are a good company to work with. Have 2 laptops and use Geek Squad and get very good service from them. Boombox is easy to operate and nice to have to play CD's Will recommend to my friends that are looking for a boombox.

We got this for my son to listen to his audio books at night. Everything works and the sound/speakers are good. The buttons are hard to push and the radio itself feels a little generic for the price.

it plays ok on the radio but on several cassettes, the volume varies. the cassettes are old and that may have something to do with it. do not have any CDs to play so can't comment on that part.

This boom box is essential for playing our old cassettes. It has good sound and ease of use. It also has radio and CD. It seems like good value for the price we paid.

Was a gift for my father in law who is in his 80s and he figured it out. Think it took reading the manual, but it works. He wanted something to play music on cassettes with a built in speaker. Not many options out there and glad I found this at Best Buy.

I like the fact that this device has a cassette player since I have several cassettes that I still listen to. I do wish it had a remote control which would be handy when I am doing work around the house.

I wanted a boom box to listen to my CD's and the radio; however, the purchase did not have a remote as did my Sony in which the CD player had failed probably due to age. Otherwise, it was a reasonably priced product.

I bought this boom box for my wife for Christmas. I chose this one because it also incorporates a cassette player and my wife has tons of cassettes still. Unfortunately just after New Years the cassette buttons collapsed inside the unit. I went back to read some of the reviews and many said the same thing. I will return this unit for another one and see how that goes. If it breaks again, then I'll return it for a refund.
