    Really Nice TV

Finally made the plunge into a flat panel TV. Looked at many but decided on the Insignia 42 inch because of the features (WiFi in particular), the price, and the two year warranty. The picture is excellent. Had to upgrade the Dish box to HD so that I was getting a 1080i picture, but once that was done - wow. Terrific picture. If you have cable or satellite you are not getting the picture you paid for if you don't have HD. I have a Roku that I really like. It has worked pretty much flawlessly. It has a great deal of internet content that the TV does not have. The Netflix on the TV is terrific - clear, vivid, high quality, streams really well. But there is no HBOGo app, nor is there an Amazon app (to rent movies, not shop). There should be. There are a bunch of great Roku channels and there is no reason why they cannot be made available on the TV as apps. That is a negative that caused me to give four bars for features. The WiFi internet connection was flawless. It readily reconnects after being off for a while. The WiFi setup was straightforward and simple. It took a bit to tweak the settings to maximize the picture and audio quality. Had to kind of play with it to figure out what worked for my eyes and ears. The sound is very good. Very clear and crisp. Not muddy at all. I'm not a gamer and don't like really loud TV sounds - so no Soundbar for me. The remote backlighting can be set to stay on longer - and that is a good idea. It is a bit hard to read some of the time with black keys. My remote had a broken power button - but a new one was shipped out after I called Insignia for assistance. The TV started all of a sudden popping an energy monitor onto the screen while watching TV, very randomly. Then stopped. The Insignia rep I talked to had never heard of that before but it stopped and went away, so annoying but minor. Plenty of connectors - 4 HDMI ports is terrific. I've got the Satellite box and the Roku on the HDMI ports, plus a DVD player using composite connections. Additionally, there's a VGA port to hook up a computer. I hooked my Mac to the TV using the VGA port and it worked immediately and without a hitch. Tonight I'm going to connect the Mac using a HDMI cable - and I imagine that will work flawlessly too. I am impressed with this TV after only a few days. It does what it is supposed to do very well. Now, if only there were more apps.........

This is my 2nd Insignia 42" model. I bought the 1st one 18 months ago and when it developed an intermittent line of dead pixels down the right side, the Geek Squad determined it needed replacement. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the 2 year warranty meant I got my full purchase price back! Thanks to the warranty I was able to move from a standard LCD to this smart LED LCD at no cost to me. We have now had this TV for about a month and I like it quite a bit. The picture is vibrant and I can see the difference that the LED backlighting makes. I love all the apps and the integration of Netflix as the version on the TV has a better interface than my BluRay's version. The sound is a bit weird as it is quite loud from my DirecTV receiver (I can't go past 8 without feeling like I'm blasting it), but muted on my BluRay (I have to go to 50 or 55 to hear conversations). Both are HDMI inputs, so I'm not sure what is going on there. The universal remote is good and was easy to setup. The shape of it is a bit odd, but now that I am used to it, it is fine. One other thing that takes a bit to get used to is the TV startup time. Since it is essentially a computer, it has a "boot up" time of a minute or two. This is a bit annoying, but probably unavoidable if you want to have apps on your TV.

Got this TV because it had a lot of features for the buck - 1080p,120 hz, LED, and connectivity. The unit was easy to set up and connected almost instantly with Netflix, a welcome relief after having gone through several hours and several phone calls attempting to get some of my Blue Ray DVD players to connect. The picture is excellent and sound is as good as you're going to get from the typically small onboard speakers. At about the one month mark, the TIVO button which connects you to the apps like Nextflix started to malfunction. When you chose the Netflix option the TV would just turn off and commence the annoying one or two minute start-up operation again, and this would happen every time I tried to access Netflix. I've been waiting two weeks for the repair guys to get here, suposedly with the part to fix connectivity. Online blogs complained about this problem.

Decent Tv but not a true LED

This tv is actually an LCD display, but has LED backlighting. So if you are looking for a true LED tv, this may not be for you. All in all, I was still happy with the display. After configuring the controls for an hour I found a look that I was satisfied with. It has great black contrasts and vivid color if you take the time to figure it out. (I wouldn't pay to have the settings done) Has a lot of HDMI inputs! My only complaint is that the USB port is a service only port, although I was able to charge my iPhone from it, there is no display for this port on the tv. A great LCD tv for the price.

We have two Samsung (55" and 40") and were going in to get a 3rd one for a family member -- but after checking this one out we were SOLD! It is a great value, the picture quality and sound are great. We saved $ and got a great product. We had not been fans of "instore" brands before, but after this experience we will consider. It was easy to set up and has exceeded expectations.

This being my first Smart TV,I don't have much to compare it to, but I am very pleased it so far. It was relatively easy to install and navigating through all of it's options is very simple. This is a moderately priced TV with a lot of amenities, so I consider it a good choice. The two things that are not to our liking are the placement of the cable wires in the back and the stand which is slightly wobbly.

So far we really like this product. It has everything we wanted for a good price. The sound is good but using the remote with all the different functions takes a little getting used to. We just have a little issue with playing our DVD as the DVD video displays as black/white instead of color. It's probably the way we have it connected but we haven't taken the time to troubleshoot it yet. Overall, we are happy with our purchase!

I needed a TV for the bedroom that had wi-fi and netflix. This one had all of the features and a very good price. I looked at name brands and other secondary brands. Since it was for a bedroom I was willing to take a chance on a less expensive TV. So far I'm glad I did. The only down side is that the speakers are a bit weak.

This is a really great led hdtv of it's size at this price range. It is packed with many features one of which is the capability to connect the the Internet via wireless. After plugging it in and getting the cable hooked up it was fairly easy to set up with the on screen menus.

I bought this TV about a year ago or so and love it for the price. The picture quality is great (AT&T Uverse & Samsung blu-ray via HDMI). I've never used the built-in speakers as my system all goes through my receiver.
