I hope this one last longer than 2 years; my last RCA one had volume problems ( eventually none); this one found more channels also; it is on the same TV in the same location using the same antenna; it is hooked up to a TV in the basement so I am quite please thus far

The unit installed easily and works well. The only thing that the unit could be better is the ability to turn off when TV is off. We did not realize this feature wasn't on this box until we got up in the morning and found it still on from the night before

I used with old TV and an antenna to in a guest bedroom. Works great

I got this expecting the basics that RCA provided-just to get basic local channels with basic options for display. I can get ION and QVC/ other shopping channels as well as Bounce TV. The the volume button on the remote (for the converter) actually works (it didn't work with RCA)! Lower the volume on your tv remote and raise the volume on the converter remote for crisper sound. When flipping channels it displays what program is on and underneath it lists the program that is coming up next. I paired this with the same brand basic antenna and find stronger results than with the RCA brand. Of course results depend on where you are located but I do find that this converter offers more in configuration. Check mark the "Recognize Daylight Savings Time" box for the most accurate time, if applicable. A real good buy to access good tv.

I purchased this unit when my digital DVD recorder stopped working. A new one cost around $300 so I got out my old analog DVD recorder that I used from before the analog to digital TV airwave change about 8 years ago. The box was easy to setup with the "setup wizard". The box needs to be on and tuned to the proper channel for timer recording. Since the recorder needs to be on channel 3 to receive the signal, recording 2 shows when I'm not home on different channels(at different times of course) won't work. This is no fault of the box. The only drawback is that there is no display indicating what channel the box is tuned to. Not a deal breaker but that would be a nice feature. The box has a nice TV guide listing what is on now and what is on next. All in all I am happy with my purchase.

I purchased this unit to convert an older tv to receive digital signals. Combined with a Digital Receiver, it seems to catch several channels and we will likely drop the cable in a "home-away-from-home" to lower some costs.

In tandem with an Antennas Direct - ClearStream Micron XG Indoor Long-Range Digital TV Antenna, this converter box works well. In addition to picking up many local channels and their digital sub-channels, each channel includes a program guide and what’s coming next.

Brought this TV converter box because our old (6 years) Zenith Digital TV (Model DTT900) converted box was dying. Easy setup and it works without all the bells and whistles. It does the job ==> Helps extend the life of our Toshiba analog TV.

When I first bought an Insignia Digital TV Converter box, it proved capable of receiving all channels and even a few more that I didn't know existed. This new Insignia wasn't quite as capable as that old Insignia Digital Converter, but was better than RCA, and a few other off brands I bought for myself, and also my brother. You MUST get a high quality POWERED antenna, and your cables MUST be of top quality in order to make the thing work. Connecting to a VCR proved troublesome, as you had to have the VCR the converter, and the TV on in order to watch TV at all.

it works perfectly for my mother who just has satellite tv. it gets maximum reception and quality hd picture. it is very easy to use and set up.

This is easy to use, works well with my computer. it's size and shape makes it easy to place and fit, small spaces not a problem. I like it.

This box works great for me. Better signall, quality picture, and more channels than my previous box.

Device works as intended to convert digital signals to analog TV SET. For some reason the audio is not as strong as the government provided device, but adequate never the less. Other than that I would have given it 5 stars for performance and price.

The box works like my TV prior to the Digital change. It does require an antenna that is strong in p/u signals. Everything is clear and I have no complaints.

This was simple to install and small so that was good. But it didn't come with the cord they say works best so there's more to buy after you read the instructions. I got more channels without it.

Very easy to set up. It was a ale to get way more channels then the pervious RCA brand. Def, worth of the buy.

Nice compact space saver, even has a guide/menu to see what's on but only shows current and next show....can't see future programs after that.

The converter box is a good alternative to expensive cable. It is also good to use on a digital television without having another monthly fee for an additional cable box. As long as you live near a major city, you should be able to receive a lot of over the air channels and with quite good digital quality.
