Since I had lost my job and had no cable connection this was easy to hook up and very cheap. So I was now at least able to listen to the news and even a lot of shows I haven't seen in years.

Math 101: Cutting the cord

I cut the cord from "D" TV and was looking to supplement our Roku with some local t.v. channels. Bought this on sale for $15. Works surprising well considering it is sitting right beside our 1900 router(also in the quagmire of an apartments wireless interference). We are about 25 miles from the t.v. stations broadcasting towers. The antenna worked nicely out of the box and we have not had to do anything but connect it to the t.v. Do the math, $15 divided by 12 months= $1.25 a month for the first year, free after that. Compared to $130 a month for "D" TV. I'm saving money and getting bad local weather forecast at the same time, priceless.

When really bad weather hits and the satellite dish goes out, it's good to have a backup. This digital antenna allows me to at least pick up the local broadcast stations; very low cost, easy to install, and the picture is crystal clear. It does help to live only a few miles from the broadcast antennas. Great value for the cost.

Small compact and simple. Does as well if not better than a powered unit costing 3 times as much. Works better if you live in an apartment with a longer coax cable to allow relocation to draw in signals. Picture is HD quality, sharp and clear, and it doesn't require electricity. Bought 2 and money well spent.

Got Several Local Stations

We were having repairs done to the outside of our home. This meant we had to remove our satellite dish (Directv) for a few days. We bought this antenna to use while our satellite dish was out of service.
The antenna did receive several local channels but not all local channels. For us, it worked best on the channels with a higher number. We did not do anything special to the antenna such as placing it in a window or a high location. We had it sitting above the TV in our family room. The TV was located on the ground floor about 12 feet from our back window. The window faced, more or less, many local TV transmitters but the transmitters were not visible from our home.
All in all, it worked okay. We had to experiment with its orientation but once set it didn't need further adjustment. As mentioned, we did receive a few channels with it. It's probably worth the price. I wouldn't view it as a long-term solution, at least not in our area.

Insignia's Fine-Tuning Indoor HDTV Antenna was exactly what I needed. The price point was fantastic and it setup and worked flawlessly the first time. If You need a simple setup and for Your antenna to work as advertised this should be on your list. There are a few models if You need more strength.

The Insignia™ - Fine-Tuning Indoor HDTV Antenna is a decent antenna that does a good job of picking up over-the-air HDTV signals. Its true usefulness will depend on your location and how close you are to source signals. For the price, it is a good option for those who do not want to pay the high cost for satellite and/or cable TV.

The Insignia™ NS-ANT514 fine-tuning indoor HDTV antenna features a tuning wheel with 2 old school antennae and also the movable middle additional antennae brings crisp clear reception on a few channels. As long as the rabbit ears are pointed at the best reception, for $8.99 and 5 more channels it's a bargain!
