You don't have to be super precise in the side-to-side mounting because you can slide the TV left and right after you've clicked it in place. Be sure to measure and be mindful of the off-set vertically, though. I forgot, and my TV is slightly lower than I planned but, I lucked out because it lines up with the door nearby, so it looks like I did it on purpose!
