These speakers are perfect for anyone who, like me, wants easily portable/packable effective gadgets that don't cost an arm and a leg. The volume is not adjustable on the speaker side, but I don't need that. I just need that extra oomph to get beyond my tablet's internal speaker limitations, especially if watching Netflix or other sites that may occasionally have volume issues. I really appreciate the design; it's obvious someone thought about this. The connections act as speaker stands, so you don't have an extra piece that may potentially break off or get in the way when storing them. When snapped together, the speakers are small enough that I can even fit them into my purse along with my iPod, cellphone and Kindle...and I carry a smallish purse. All around, I consider this to be an excellent buy.

Some of the rooms in the university, at which I teach, are equipped with data projectors but lack an associated sound system. The speakers in my notebook computer are insufficient for projecting the audio of my lessons in the smallest classroom. My criteria in searching for external speakers were, in order of importance, adequate volume, small size, light weight and inexpensive. These speakers satisfied and exceeded all of the criteria. I can now provide adequate audio in a fifteen hundred square foot classroom loaded with students. Better yet, these inexpensive and rugged little speakers add no discernable weight or bulk to my, already overburdened, notebook bag. I not only recommend this product, I intend to purchase a couple for gifts this coming holiday season.

These are really super! Great sound out of these tiny little speakers that pack into a very compact size. Simply plug the USB thing into your laptop and that's it. More than enough volume, and absolutely perfect for travel, which is why we bought them. A great way to watch movies on the road.

I've had these speakers for a couple weeks now and they are great. I got them to use with my laptop for movies and music. When i first got them i was skeptical about cheap speakers but these are awsome and definatly recomended for people wanting to get compact and portable speakers for a laptop. The sound is great and they are powered through usb so there are less wires to worry about. The wire from the back of the speakers doubles as a stand as well and works great. You can also hook these up to an ipod or other music player making these very versatile and it comes with an alternative power source so you dont have to have them plugged into your laptop in order to use them. You can plug them into a small power output box powered by AAA batteries. The speakers are magnetic in the corners of each speaker so they stick together when not in use for traveling. Overall this was a well spent $20 when comparing these speakers to other pricier models. Highly reccomended!

This speakers are extremely useful for the laptops, especially because they are USB powered. I teach a lot of classes and show videos to my students through my laptop. These speakers are perfect because they are loud enough for the class and I have stopped buying batteries for my external speakers I used to use :) The pouch they provide is useful to carry the speakers around. The Mp3 outlet is also useful. In short, a great purchase for the price you pay! Can't go wrong. Enjoy!!!

I really needed some simple speakers that would just make the sound louder on my macbook when I am watching movies or just listening to music. I got these today just after reading the reviews from my blackberry in the store :) and already i love them because they are just perfect for me! If you just want something simple that makes the sound louder then these are for you, but if you are looking for surround sound and all that good stuff then you should be paying a lot more for something else. these speakers are great! and they are really inexpensive as well. after taking them out of the package, they were smaller and lighter then i expected them to be, and thats awesome! the only downside for me is that you can see the actual magnets on the speakers, but i can get over those. overall, i think they are great just for simple use, on the go, and great just for making the sound louder :)

Typical laptop speakers do not provide the volume required for sm/med conference rooms. These speakers deliver great design and functionality for that specific application. They will not win any awards for sound quality, but that's not the point. I used them to deliver audio for a DVD played from Sony Vaio and projected on screen for group of 15 in a large conference room. Plenty of volume, no distortion, and adequate sound. Best of all, they are designed to be thrown into existing laptop bag -- no additional luggage required. Speakers magnets hold pair together (face-to-face). Included cable powers speakers through USB (didn't use included battery pack), provide stand for speakers via plug, and folds up into pocket in included case.

I bought these the weekend to lug around with my laptop. I was attracted by their portability and price. For 20 bucks I was not expecting Bose performance and my expectations were met, but to be fair to Insignia they did perform better than I thought a set of travel speakers this cheap would. They basically do what they say on the tin and are worth the money if its style and portability that matters most.

I needed external speakers for better conferencing on my laptop. These were inexpensive and they looked nice, so I bought them. The sound is pretty good for the price range and they couldn't be more convenient. The audio cable works as the speaker's stand to help make them nice and slim, they work well off of USB power, they have built in magnets so they stick to each other and stay out of the way. It includes a battery pack so you don't have to use a USB power source and a carrying case for added ease.

I like the sound, speakers were easy to set-up, great value for the price.

As far as cost you get what you pay for and I cant complain due to not having high expectations prior to purchase. Surprisingly they sound pretty decent from the mids to the highs but in the lows dont expect much. They will do well in a quiet environment but if work or play in a noisy one they will be somewhat disappointing. If your looking for deep loud portable speakers spend the extra cash on a set of JBL's. I did like the portability, design and the lack of a pwr supply though. If you want loud these arent the speakers for you.

Great buy, These speakers are great for travel since they come with a travel case. The sound is great, They are easy to set up and lightweight. Great for laptops or notebooks. I bought a second set for my desktop these speakers are so good.

I bought these compact and stylish portable speakers to upgrade the weak speakers on my notebook and also to use with my iPod as they run both from USB port and they also come with a neat portable battery power-pack for use with iPod (and other MP3 players, portable CD player, etc.). They are extremely compact (pocket sized) and clip together magnetically to protect the speaker surfaces in transit. They also come with their own travel bag. The speaker cables when connected also double up as the speaker stands... A fantastic design feature. The speakers perform very well and for a mere $19.99 you can't go wrong. Nothing else at this price point can touch them.

I wanted something with a very small profile for my desktop PC and didn't want to spend much money. Although, I've used them just a few times for listening to music, I have also used them to watch movies and TV shows, and these speakers are so much more than adequate! It's unbelievable to me that such powerful sound can come from such tiny speakers. The only drawback in my eyes is that they are so light-weight, that a slight jostling of the speaker wire causes the speakers to fall of the shelf.

I purchased these speakers to use while traveling and made my decision based on price and size. I was not disappointed. The product delivers a decent quality sound for travel speakers, and their ability to be powered by a USB port or battery pack (included) is a plus. Speaking of plusses, their size makes for very easy packing. I would definitely recommend this product.

My laptop speakers sound terrible so I was looking for a set of portable speakers that I could travel with. I bought these little speakers and am really pleased with them. They clip together and take up little space in my laptop case and they sound much better than I was expecting. Best of all, they were only 20 bucks. The cables do get twisted up at times but apart from that I thought they were worth the money.

It you have a sound system in your car you won't like these. If you just want something portable and louder than your laptop you will LOVE them. The cables double as stands! They are at least twice as loud as my macbook is whiich is perfect. I like to listen to music and watch movies and I don't care about booming bass, these are perfect. Best $20 I've spent on electronics probably ever.

These are great little speakers, perfect for travel but don't expect a whole lot of power if you're planning them to be your main speakers at home. They are tiny so they are easy to take on travels, and the quality is good for boring hotel nights when you want some music from your PC. The all black color looks pretty bland - my PC is white so having a choice of colors would be nice...

Ok, so I was looking around Best Buy's website and in store options to replace my old computer speakers. Mind you I was never looking for anything expensive, just ok. So I search and search and finally chose these speakers based on the other reviews posted on this site and the conversation I had with the Best Buy employee. Upon looking at the package and gathering all basic knowledge encompassing all aspects of common sense known to man kind through out all of time, both the sale's representative and I deduced that the speakers would have some sort of way of standing up on their own. Whether it be some thing that sticks out of the back like a picture frame or SOMETHING. But no, THESE SPEAKERS CAN NOT STAND UP ON THEIR OWN. They literally just lay there. But you know, if they could lay there and just be flat, and still produce ok quality, fine, I'd be ok with that. But NO, there's a little bubble in the back of each speaker (I guess for the some part of the speaker itself) that sticks out the back of each speaker. So they can't even lay completely flat on the table. SO ONCE AGAIN, THERE IS NO WAY FOR THESE THINGS TO STAND UP UNLESS YOU LEAN THEM AGAIN SOMETHING LIKE A WALL OR DEVICE OR IF YOU CREATE SOME HOMEMADE DEVICE THAT WILL STAND THEM UP. Otherwise, I found the quality of the audio to be ok. Basically what I paid for. The odd funny noise described in another review did appear at first but then went away after 5 minutes. I mainly use these speakers to watch streaming NetFlix movies. So these would probably make great travel speakers, but they stink as home computer speakers..........Would I recommend this item to a friend?. Home computer: NO, Traveling: YES. P.S. ..In case I didn't make it clear, the package contains no mention of the fact that these speakers have no way of standing up on their own. Video review may come in a day. Maybe.
