with pure android this tablet works great. /recommended

While the specifications indicate it is a GPS capable device it does not have a GPS receiver. This bit of false promotion has turned me against the product. While it has decent memory the processor is under-powered and the screen was not very bright. I bought 2 of these for my kids (8 and 6 yrs. old) for an upcoming 34 hr. road trip and I specifically looked for a GPS capable device as an educational tool on the way. I have moved to the lenovo A10 instead.

First of all. My tablet will not wake from sleep if the "adaptive brightness" is on. I would have to reset the tablet Everytime it went to sleep. Finally figured out that I had to turn it off, or the screen would stay black! I was very disappointed because my 8" tablets battery died and warrantied it to get this one. I was going to return this one, but decided just to disable the "adaptive brightness". Never worked on my 8" tablet either. Other than this major flaw, the tablet is great for the price. The audio quality is also very poor. Makes a great web browser, and the screen cast is great for movies. On this tablet you really get what you pay for.

Worst tablet! I was a bit iffy on getting this tablet because the screen did feel plastic and cheap but i figured for the price it wasn't to bad. I WAS WRONG!!! the first one i got stopped working in less then 3 days. it went very slow and then refused to let me download anything i did a hard reset and that didn't work. so we took it back. got a second one and that one was worse than the first. the screen had dead pixels, it was slow, logged me out of everything i did, downloads wouldn't go through, and to top it all off it took forever to fully charge then when i went to turn it on it would say "insignia" then turned it self off. it wouldn't stay on even for a second. i would not recommend this tablet to anyone. maybe if your a beginner you wont notice all the problems that it has but even then i wouldn't recommend.

I had an old dual core 1gb ram tablet and this new one has twice the horsepower but it is sluggish. One thing I hate is that when you wake the tablet from idle it could take up to five minutes for the tablet to act normal. By that I mean you could tap on any app and it won't load right away and it will act this way for the next few minutes and sometimes you get a black screen while the app is loading. Even after the tablet has been up sometimes I'll tap on an app and it won't doing anything and loads slowly randomly. I recently compared the load time with my old tablet and this tablet definitely has some weird issue. Because it's sluggish this tablet has been relegated to just watching videos and play toy for the backseat for the little ones. FYI I'm a certified IT guy so I deal with a lot of devices at work and definitely won't recommend this because of this weird random sluggish issue. Screen resolution is fine for photo and video viewing though.

I've had problems with device. It is always updating all the app 2 or 3 times a week. When I touch the screen to open a app. it takes longer than other device I have.

I purchased this tablet after my old 4 year old RCA tablet quit working. Read the reviews and decided to take a chance on this one, hoping that the other one and two star reviews were just because of user mismanagement. Sadly, they were all warranted. The screen was great in itself, very nicely lit and resolution was fairly good. Performance and speed were fair, but slow at times unless you cleared out all previous apps. Battery life was actually pretty good. Then one morning, less than a month after purchasing it, the tablet just would not turn on or take a charge. No warning, no reason for it. I even remember the battery was at about a 75% charge when I turned it off the night before. Just wouldn't turn back on again or even take a charge. Also, just an additional note, I tried to purchase a service plan in store as a safety net, but the price of the plan was almost half the full price of the tablet! Overall, a disappointing experience from both Insignia & Best Buy on this purchase. I guess some of the other reviews were right, you get what you pay for.

The price is excellent for this tablet. I would buy for any child that loves android and good size screen.

This is a great tablet. It isn't too heavy. My 80 year old uncle can actually see the screen.

I purshased this for a friend. He has never had a tablet. Easy to use! Fast, And Fast Shipping. He loves it! If I needed one I would of bought this one!

Bought as a Christmas gift 2015 for my GF as I wanted an entry level tablet. It has decent features for the price. Biggest issue is the power button !! You can't shut it off and she's had to hard reset it almost daily to get it to boot up as the system locks up. Last night the volume button is now stuck / broken and she can't use it, so it will be returned this weekend. I plan to spend more money and get a Samsung or similar. It will be interesting to see what grief Best Buy gives me to return this since it's been just over 30 days. I would not recommend this !!

Bought for a gift around Christmas and after 3 months the experience has been 100% positive. Absolutely no complaints at all. Meets and exceeds expectations

my husband is really enjoying this tablet.. It seems to be easy to use and sync with other devices

We bought this as our first tablet, me and my mother share it and we love it and have had no problems! All our programs run fine and we use it at our business as well (facebook, instagram, etc.) The camera isn't that great but other than that it has been wonderful!

I purchased 2 of the Insignia 10" tablets for my son and daughter for Christmas. This week both have stopped working for no apparent reason. One tablet turns on but does not respond to touch. The second one will not even come on. I'm certain it's out of the return period and sadly I wasn't able to purchase the extended warranty. I have two upset kids now.
