    Great Tablet!!!

I 1st got this tablet in the summer and almost returned it because of the battery drain. After the update...Greatness! Netflix works, and battery problem is fixed. The screen resolution is excellent and it is fast. I have over 200 apps installed on this thing and no lag. I watch Showbox on it and it runs smooth. Don't get me started on the thin and lightness of this tablet. I have an Ipad Mini 4 and this is lighter. I had a love affair with Samsung for years, but the prices for their tablets are outrageous. At $150, this has the resolution and enough power to take anything you throw at at. Great for college kids and the grand kids, and older folks.

    Good tablet with limitations

The 8" Insignia Flex Elite The good: Screen Form factor Thin Light Zippy processor 2GB memory The bad: Speakers - do you like listening to music in a tin can? 9GB storage out of the box - has an SD card slot, but beware that you may not be able to transfer apps to it. The ugly: Battery - screen brightness at 40% gets me maybe 6 hrs (I'm being generous) if no gaming and/or watching videos. No software updates - won't even connect to server to check for any updates If you don't mind the lack of software updates and the poor battery, then this could be a good tablet for you. I, personally, can't get past it.

If your looking for an inexpensive iPad mini clone this is a great one. It's the same size has the same looks at half the price. One good feature is its expandable up to 64gigs. Resolution is great very light and sound is good. Very pleased so far with performance.

Pros: +Peppy performance +Great screen resolution +Light weight for the screen size +MicroSD slot +Low price Cons: -Battery life is not good. Turning off location service, bluetooth and notifications helps - which doesn't impact me as I mostly use this for ebooks, basic Internet browsing and taking notes. -Case options limited to universal 7"-8" tablet cases

    Good Tablet for the Money

I was looking for a low-spec tablet that had a good display, and this one meets that requirement. Many inexpensive tablets skimp on the display resolution, which makes them worthless in my opinion. This tablet has a beautiful, crisp high-resolution display. Its performance is acceptable, though you will frequently find yourself waiting on it when you switch apps. Once an app is up and loaded, its fine. Unfortunately, it is only running Android 5.0.2 after the most recent update (build 2015-09-16). Mine took this update this morning and I was honestly expecting 5.1.1 or so, not a tiny update from 5.0.1 to 5.0.2. Some of the text that you see less often was obviously written by someone who doesn't speak English as their primary language. (Really, Insignia? You couldn't find one competent English speaker to proof read?) The battery life is a bit short, but it does last a couple of hours of use, though I haven't tried playing movies. I would prefer a thicker tablet (YES, thicker. I want something I can hold onto!) with the extra space occupied by more battery.

I was looking upgrade my kids Nexus 7 2013 with a device that had expandable memory. This one fit the bill. 2K screen. Glass screen with super clarity. Plenty bright. The CPU is not a major brand cpu (used on new chromebooks) and is equivalent to the processor found in the Nexus 7 2013. It has lollipop and the OS is pretty much stock OS. I ran Geekbench and the numbers were perfect. The build quality looks high end. I highly recommend. It looks like this is on sale now. Pretty awesome.

At thr price this is one of the better Android tablets out there. Screen is amazing. Only issues are a low battery life and it doesn't want to let non-system apps use the SD card unless the card is formatted NTFS. Still it has the closest to stock Android Lollipop outside of a Nexus, and no ridiculous bloatware.

This tablet exceeded my expectations in many ways. The battery power is reasonable for a smart device, the processor is fast, really my only complaint is that I am unable to move anything to my microSD card. From my research regarding the issue, I am unable to determine if it is an issue with the device itself, or the operating system that came on the device, possibly a combination of the two. Other than that, I am 100% satisfied with this tablet and would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

Very happy with the insignia flex tablet. I had an 8 inch tablet but wanted one with a wider form factor for reading the internet around the house. It is not the fastest but the screen looks fantastic, is very very bright and is easy to read on. The biggest weakness is the battery life which is pretty short. Not really a problem for me as I only use it at home. For people who want to take it with them, it probably wouldn't be a great choice.

Great Tablet for basic use. Good Android experience. The best display on the market for a tablet in this price range. Display on the same level as an IPad mini and better than an Samsung Tab S2. The battery was its only issue. It was not bad, but not the greatest. One of my favorite tablets being one that has only a small presence in the tablet market. I look forward to the future of quality display insignia tablets in this fantastic price range. Thank you Best Buy..

I was hesitant to buy Insignia, but when I saw how much value it had, I had to give it a try, especially when it was also on sale at $99! My 9 year old daughter loves it and so far, no problems at all. It connects to downloads from my wifi quickly, multitasks without stutter, plays loud clear sound, and has a wonderful display. The only thing left to determine is its reliability over time.

Had it for a week . So far working okay . got updated right away. nice screen size . nice weight / balance . battery life about 4 hours . Could be really nice if they can fix the video stuttering , Funny thing is both my other Insignia 8 and 10 inch tablet don t have this problem . Hope fully there will be one more update to fix this problem . Cross my finger but will not hold my breath

We purchased this tablet for our 8 year old. He is rough on his items so we were looking for something low cost but functional. The tablet is fairly decent for the price. The screen is better than we expected. It actually functions smooth enough for his purposes. The battery life could be better. It takes decent pictures with the rear shooter as well. It's perfect for young kids. I wouldn't recommend it for an adult unless all you want to do is surf the web.

I bought this mainly for the retina display. This was for my uncle. He is not a busy user. So, I thought this would be best one. Perfect size for him. Didn't see slowing down During multitasking. Not great touch feel, so only 4 stars.

I purchased two of these for my sons birthdays. The screen resolution was far and away better than anything else in that price range. The battery life isn't the best, but even playing them on and off all day only requires charging back up once maybe twice. You get what you pay for, and with this tablet you get just a bit more than that.

This tablet has stellar features and is well designed however mine was slow, clunky and often had screen freezes. I wish it hadn't because i really liked the tablet. I planned on exchanging the tablet for another but decided to go with a more expensive and reliable brand when I arrived at the store. I will miss the high res display. I'm knocking off 2 stars for my bad experience but it really is a beautiful tablet

This table looks pretty good and the display is really great. The sound isn't really great but not really bad either the power and volume buttons are really flimsy and it's not very convenient trying to change the volume, you often turn the power off instead or hit the volume button in the middle and won't do anything because you are not far enough to one side or the other but then you sometimes turn up the volume when you want to turn it down or vice versa. It plays most games pretty well, and again the display is really great but the battery dies really fast especially for a lot of games like Fallout Shelter and it doesn't seem to be able to charge at the same time you are playing a game, it only keeps the battery from completely dying if you have it plugged into the charger. It might be different about charging while watching a video, I'm not sure I don't watch too many lengthy videos on smart devices. I don't think you would be able to watch a two hour movie on a full a charge without the battery going dead maybe 20 or 15 minutes before the film was over though. It usually doesn't take a real long time to charge back up though. The back of the tablet seems to get pretty hot after using it for while, not extremely hot but pretty hot. Sometimes touching the back of the tablet makes it do weird things that is like a record skipping or partially freezing for a second or two. I'm not sure if that has something to with the placements of the things inside it or not. I really need more space for apps. I don't even download any new apps anymore but that would be no problem if Android would just let you put apps on memory cards again; if they did that, then this tablet would have plenty of space. Other then the physical buttons placement and quality, a little bit of the sound not being real good, the weird skipping when holding the back, the only major problem is the battery, the heat issue probably isn't that big of a deal because I would assume that about all tablets get kind of warm but I'm not sure because I've only had a couple before, including this one. I guess the low battery life is a trade off for the great display but if it just had an extra hour or maybe even just an extra 30 minutes it would make it way better. This tablet is discontinued and I'm not sure if they are going to make another model with this display but it would be hard for me to go to a less quality display after using this tablet.

I looked at every tablet and when I noticed the specifications on the Insignia flex elite 7.85 I was expecting a lot. The high resolution screen is so great for all my games and watching videos! The reviews are correct. Once in a while there is a bit of shutter. Instead of a loading dial it just stalls for a second. I actually prefer it to the circling arrow on other devices. The battery can be an issue for some people. I carry a small battery backup (6500 mah ) With the extra capacity it is never an issue. 6 + hours of nonstop gaming is about all i can take anyway. If your looking for a tablet this is the one!

This Insignia Flex Elite is a nice tablet. Has a crisp clean screen with great high resolution. Only issue is battery life not long lasting and speaker sound not too loud. An accompanied Bluetooth speaker helps. But all n all a nice tablet to read on or watch videos with.
