    Great off brand tablet

Yeah its not Samsung or an iPad or whatever, but this tablet is pretty good. High resolution screen and moderately powerful processor. Battery life is mediocre, and the camera is only okay, but it rarely stutters. That's only when running a fairly intensive 3d game. It has GPS, an accelerometer, gyroscope, and runs a fairly recent version of Android. Considering it's much much cheaper than the big brands, it's pretty good. I knock off one star for battery life and the lack of compatible accessories like protective covers and screen covers because Best Buy discontinued this tablet.

    Lags

I like the size and build of this tablet. The screen is clear although too bright on the most dim setting at night. I noticed the battery drain issue that others reported but simply selecting the "wifi off on standby" option fixed the drain. I also have a nexus 7 (2013) with a touch screen problem. I was hoping this would be a slightly upgraded replacement from that however I'm doubting it after using this for 2 days. This tablet suffers from a lag that is very frustrating. I don't have anything on this tablet that wasn't on the older nexus and I have a very big delay that makes this tablet hard to use. I am thinking about returning it unless I hear of an update that could fix this.

Good specs for the price, and amazing screen resolution. Unfortunately, the fancy screen takes a lot of power so the battery life suffers. Battery is adequate, but just so. Overall a compelling package, definitely worth the price.

I read the reviews for this tablet and it seemed like a good product and with an excellent screen. I bought a 32GB microSD card with it to store movies and books for when I travel. When it arrived the users guide stated quite clearly that it can take up 64GB microSd cards, although the web site specs said 32GB. So I traded up and bought a 64GB card. However when I try to load movies onto the card either via the USB cable or by moving them from internal RAM - it will not transfer anything that takes the total used past 2GB. When I put the microSD card into my laptop I can load over 27GB with no issue at all, but the tablet won't recognize it but it is over the 2GB threshold. I will try exchanging this for another of the same model and hope that one works better.

Got this for my son. Works very well and the screen is really great quality with high DPI providing a clear picture. The treason for the low score is the battery. It does not last long and my son says it won't switch on until it charges full and takes a long time to turn on.

The Insignia Flex 7.85 is great tablet, 2gigs of ram makes it run great. a 1.8 quadcore processor runs fast, HD graphics are very good to. and the price is reasonable. The only con is the power switch.

This 8" (more-or-less) Insignia Android tablet may well deserve a "5 Star" rating based on its bargain price. The screen is excellent, and the tablet has performed without any known flaws. Tablet is spouse's - she also has an older Nook HD (Outstanding display), a smaller Cheap tablet (great for young kids), and a Note 4 - but the Insignia is her favorite portable device for most non-phone activities (vying with the Nook for Reading.) I would give an edge to my ZenPad S 8.0 - hence "only" 4 starts for the Insignia: but the Asus was also more expensive. Would certainly have another Insignia on the Short List if we needed another tablet.

I purchased this tablet yesterday as an open-box deal. Right out of the box it wouldn't boot up until I put it in recovery mode. Once I had it working correctly I thought "Wow, what a beautiful screen!!" I bought this to hold me over until I could afford a higher end tablet but it struggled with video playback on Netflix and Comcast's TV GO app. The video and sound would stutter like the Exorsist girls head spins. Battery life is decent and reading news on it was very pleasant but sadly I will be returning it do to the video problems. I figured with a quad core and 2 gigs of ram this wouldn't be an issue but it's a deal breaker for me.

great specs on this tablet and the screen is amazing however the video was not in sync - song is playing but lips aren't moving..disappointed - also found out that it does not work with Netflix..too bad this would have been a great tablet to keep - if video worked properly and Netflix too the rating would be 5 stars...

    A Real Shame...

What a great little tablet. Amazing Specs! Amazing Screen! And most importantly... An amazing price! All this amazingness had one HUGE (for me at least) letdown... Cannot run Netflix. I bought one, thought it was broken, took it back, got another one, called insignia, called Netflix, called customer support, factory reset, made new gmail account for apps, called customer support again at insignia... Was told "oh yea, something with the software. Not sure when we'll be rolling out any updates. Honestly, I'd return it and get a new one." This was FROM INSIGNIA personnel. It's really ashamed because other than that, the tablet felt solid, ran excellent, and was all in all a great device at an excellent price. Only other "flaw" was like a two minute start-up time. (Weird)

Thank you for choosing Insignia to purchase your tablet. I'm very sorry to read you were let down when you weren't able to run Netflix. We have been notified of this conflict with certain Video Apps, and have released a update to get these apps fully functioning on the Flex Elite. If you haven't already, please check for available updates and once you have updated it, you should be able to enjoy Netflix on your tablet. BBY-ExBrand_Insignia

I really enjoyed the high resolution and excellent graphics of this tablet I bought on Friday 2, Oct.. at the Best Buy in Pentagon City. Unlucky me, the fun was short termed: Last monday (Oct.27) the tablet refused to charge or even turn on. Feeling really sad about this because I went to USA as a tourist and can't reach your service.

I had to return the first one I purchased. It just died and would not turn on. I'm guessing something happened with the USB charging connector. This one has been ok so far. Has a great screen. The battery drains very quick on stand-by as well as during use. I would not purchase again.

For the price, this tablet is awesome! The picture quality is amazing. The brightness is so vivid that I can only have my level halfway up. I'm used to apple products and this is the first android device I've owned. Definitely user friendly and easy to learn. Tons of options

The tablet is fast and the screen image is sharp and attractive. The battery does seem to need to be recharged more frequently than I expected. However, this is my first tablet, and I have nothing to which to compare it.

Good tablet, fast speeds jumping from web pages to ebooks and back. Lightweight tablet and thin design is easy on the hands. I didn't give 5 stars because it's low light setting is still way too bright for nighttime reading.

This tablet has great features for the price and high resolution, but is so thin that the tablet can bend and so the screen has broken twice, even while in a protective case. Costs more to repair than to replace.
