    Solid Camera for the Price

This camera has worked well, and is a great value for the money. I drive Lyft and wanted something to record both the inside and outside of vehicle. So far, it has been ideal. I've checked the recordings, and they are very satisfactory for my purposes. It's easy to download the videos by connecting the camera either to your computer or android phone, or by removing the SD card. Understand that this camera only records to the SD card; there is no wi-fi or bluetooth connectivity, so if you're looking for something that records to the cloud, this camera would not be what you're looking for. Nevertheless, it's a good solid camera for the price and better than comparable cameras that I looked at on Amazon. I'm happy with the purchase.

I wasn't sure what ti expect from this camera, but it has pleasantly surprised me. The picture quality is nice on both cameras and the night infra-red quality is good as well. I wanted something to record behind me more so than in my cabin, and it captures pretty well out the side and rear windows despite it being designed for in- cabin recording. I keep it plugged in, using the supplied very nice long power cord, because I like for it to begin recording when I start my vehicle and stop recording when I turn my vehicle off. It's supposed to have a built-in battery, but I haven't needed to use it yet. I am using a Sandisk Ultra 128 GB card and since I inserted the card and formatted it within the settings of the camera, I have had no issues. With all the driving I do, I get about 5-6 days before it loops. The only real complaint is the fact that there is nothing/zilch on how to actually operate the camera. I had to test each button to see what function it performed and then I had to do a web search to in order to find out what one of the settings was. This is the sole reason I give it a 4 star out if 5. Mounting is easy and seams to be very secure. I detach the camera from the windshield mount a couple times a week and have had no issues with it. Definitely a good little set cameras.

Video quality was far better than expected. Rear camera wasn't expecting much, but pleasantly surprised - can not only see the interior and passengers of our SUV, but also quite a bit out the rear window. Reviews say the suction cup will fail sooner rather than later (extreme heat here in SW Florida), so we'll see about that. Easy set up and formatting for memory card. Great price for peace of mind with teenage drivers.

Dash cam helped me catch a car thief!

I have always liked Insignia products for their high quality. This dash cam was no exception. It was very easy to install -- just pretty simple as plug and play. The video quality is great. If i can give this 10 stars, I would in a heart beat. This little device helped me record a car thief that broke into my vehicle that was parked on my driveway. Depending on your vehicle type, I have a Ford, and when you open the car door, the control panel/dashboard turns on automaticall1y even without a key. My dash cam is always plugged in, so when the thief broke the car door open, my dash cam turned on automatically and recorded his face clearly, even at night time. I submitted the video footage to the police and they were able to identify the criminal, and my personal belongings were returned to me. What a life saver!

This dashcam is great value for the money. You get 1080p video recording on both the front and rear cameras. The camera swivels up-and-down as well as left-and-right, so it's easily adjustable depending on where you need to place it. I am really not a big fan of the camera using mini-USB. USB-C has been available for about 7 years; it has long been time that everything switched over. Despite that, it doesn't really affect the performance of this camera in any way; it's just a personal gripe of mine. The unit has a built-in capacitor and automatically turns on and off depending on whether your car is on or off. Setting it up is super simple. Everything is done on the small, built-in screen and the settings are straightforward and easy to navigate. The large, physical buttons are much appreciated. If you're looking for optimal performance, I'd recommend you figure out a way to add some sort of neutral density (ND) filter to the lens. That will allow you to filter out the glare that you sometimes get during daytime. Unfortunately, I don't think there are any dedicated ND filters you can buy for this dashcam; however, nothing is stopping you from using a general, all-purpose, universal filter and pasting it over the lens. The camera quality (1080p at 30 frames per second) is just fine for most consumers' needs. The color accuracy is pretty good and I never felt like the picture quality was dull, too blurry, or inaccurate. One suboptimal aspect of this dashcam is night-time recording. You get reduced image quality at night-time, but that's the case for every dash cam in existence. There's just less light hitting the image sensor. You can somewhat make up for this by enabling the HDR filter in the settings, and it does slightly improve the picture quality at night. The trade-off is that there ends up being a bit more motion blur than normal, so reading license plates becomes slightly worse with HDR on. I don't personally see a need to turn HDR on. It's a dash cam, not a showpiece television set where you set it to 'Vivid' and max out the saturation in hopes of getting peoples' attention. If anything, having more 'boring' (but accurate) colors is better for this product. The more accurate you can be, the better your case if something ever happens to you or your car. 'You want a purple car to actually appear purple, if that makes sense. Overall, I'd highly recommend this dash cam at full price ($100). It often goes on sale for $80, but I did see it for $70 as a deal of the day. If you're on the fence, I'd recommend you just buy it and try it out. Setting it up is simple, and you have 15 days to return it at any Best Buy with no hassle (60 if you're a TotalTech member). Everyone should have a dash cam in their car, and this is a good beginner candidate. You get front and rear-facing recording at a relatively inexpensive price. The rear-facing camera is actually surprisingly good, and more than competent to record the inside of your cabin at night (to show what you were doing during an accident, or to record your passengers). I say: don't hesitate to give this a try. I liked mine enough that I bought a second one for my girlfriend to have in her car.

I absolutely love this dash camera. It’s a great steal for the price I paid! I got it on sale for $89.99 when it was originally $99.99, I believe. So for $100 you cannot go wrong with the dual cameras & the quality of this thing. It has an emergency saving mode for if an accident occurs & a backsave feature that can still be recovered if the camera gets damaged from the accident. It also has night mode on the rear facing camera (the one recording you driving) so you can always see what’s going on at night time too. Your headlights take care of the front facing camera, & the quality is still great at night too! The only thing you need to know is to record anything on this dash cam, you NEED to purchase an SD memory card first. You cannot use it at all for recording until you have a memory card in it. But I love it & am very satisfied with my purchase. Thank you Insignia & thank you Best Buy!!!

Easy to use. Great quality. Easy to set up. The mic is very good. On the negative side... the G shock sensor is too sensitive for my Jeep Rubicon. It goes off too frequently. Great value at $99 in 2019.

Unit is all plastic. However, for the price I paid it was worth it ($30 off regular price). Not much instructions included, however, as with any electronic gadget just play with it for a few minutes and you’ll figure it out. If you insist on a detailed manual there is a link in the product description on bestbuy.com. As for the product itself, I’ve had it a few days and it works well. It turns on as soon as I start the car and turns off when the car is off. The screen is quite small, and automatically turns off 1 or 3 minutes after the car is started. (You have to set your preference to 1 or 3 minutes). You can also set the camera view to show the front view, rear view or both (picture in picture). The rear view basically just shows the inside of your car. My camera is positioned behind the rear view mirror so the rear camera is basically useless for me. As for the longevity of this thing, only time will tell.

Good price, small, functional enough for basic use. Turns on for loop video as soon as power is on, and turns off when power is off. There is no rechargeable battery, and no wifi. Loop video is stored in micro SD card. For me and I guess most drivers this is all we need. The small size makes it easy to put it on center, or left or right upper corner of windshield, and not obstruct any view. Video is good for both front and back. Easy to set up.

Basic functioning recording device to record the wackos on the highways of America. This one doesn’t monitor the car in the lot or some of the other more complex features but does great video for recording where you’ve been. I even used it to record a Drive-Thru Christmas lights show we went through. Small footprint makes it easy to find a place to put it on the windshield. No frills function in this one for a pretty low price

I really love this little Front and Rear Dash Cam! It gives an EXCELLENT Picture for both the Front and the Rear. Best I have ever seen and this is my fifth dash cam. Easy to install and not to bad for set up. The only thing I really hate about this cam is that there is no users manual with it and even though it says to go online and get it, when you try to do so, it just takes you right to the Quick Start Guide that already comes with it. I am really upset and angry about this but the cam does such a great job, even though I was going to take it back, I decided to keep it after reveiwing the footage from it the first time. Great little unit! Just hope Insignia gets with the program and puts out a user manual for it.

This turned out to be a pretty good camera. I had the installer hard wire it into the car so it would come on each time you start the car. Only during one drive home did it not come on for some reason. This is the reason for four stars.

I purchased 3 of these for my car, and my kids cars, all but one worked great, I returned the other because it kept giving a green screen of snow. Overall, they work nice. I do wish the reverse camera shown more than just the cab of the vehicle. Over all, worth the price. You can turn the cabin camera off, as well as the microphone. I have 64mb sim card in them, and keep mine plugged in all the time. My son unplugs his when he's home. They mount easily, and have lots of cord, a little too much for my car. But I don't have it run to hide, either. I like the picture, and the night vision as well. Clear and crisp.

I was trying out different cameras for my daughter who is new to the world of driving, so be on the lookout. I happened to see this camera on sale and so i decided to try it. Initially i was concerned as the front and rear cameras are built as one piece. I was concerned that someone’s head in the backseat for example would block the cameras view. We took a quick trip out of town so the timing was perfect to use the camera. I have a large suburban style SUV. I let the camera do it’s thing and when we got back i town i decided to review some footage. I was blown away with the clarity of both the front and rear cameras. Even car tags were clear when at a stop light. The rear was very clear and the rear window is tinted. I wish i had gotten two now that they are on sale. Excellent product and i don’t believe you’ll be disappointed.

Good Dash Camera for the price. Super easy to setup, but the menu does take some time to getting familiar with. Image quality is fine. This camera has a lot of features, but the quick start or basic guide does not tell you these features. Download the user guide to set up those features. Has variable record times, a shock sensor, motion sensor, emergency video record, ability to record special videos on the fly, microphone can be turned off/on, night recording LEDs, headlight on reminder, and so on. Compact size, looks to be good quality. I would recommend it for it's cost vs what you get in this dash camera.

I drive between 30-40k miles a year for work and spend a lot of time on the road. This camera is very easy to operate. The inside of my work truck reaches upwarda of 120 degrees, maybe even hotter, in the summer, and this camera is not affected in the slightest. Although there is no app to quickly pull up videos, I found a micro sd card reader that you can plug into your phone to pull up videos on the fly. I have done this on my iphone and all the videos are easily accessible for law enforcement in cases of accidents. The videos are clear as day. The audio is a little loud but everything is audible. I would recommend this camera to anyone in the market for an affordable, yet reliable dash camera.
