Buy new not used
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Open box like new was not worth it sadly. I loves the feel of the keyboard but it kept disconnecting from my devices and that was not good since i work from home and was very inconvenient. If you get this better buy it new.

A Mixed Bag of Comfort and Compromises
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a tech enthusiast, diving into the Insignia Full-Size Wireless Ergonomic Membrane Keyboard was a journey of both delight and disappointment. This sleek black keyboard offers a mix of ergonomic design and wireless convenience, but it comes with its fair share of shortcomings. Let's start with the positives. The ergonomic design is commendable, providing a comfortable typing experience even during prolonged use. The full-size layout and membrane keys offer a satisfying tactile response without the clatter of mechanical switches, making it ideal for quiet work environments. The wireless functionality adds a layer of convenience, eliminating cable clutter and allowing for flexibility in positioning. However, the Insignia keyboard falls short in a few crucial areas. The wireless connectivity, while convenient, occasionally experiences lag, affecting the typing responsiveness. This hiccup, though intermittent, can be a significant drawback for users who demand swift and accurate input. Another notable drawback is the absence of backlighting. In low-light conditions, navigating the keys can be challenging, impacting productivity and user experience. A backlight feature would have been a welcome addition to elevate the overall usability of the keyboard. The build quality is decent, but some users may find the plastic construction less premium compared to other options in the market. The lack of programmable keys or additional customization options might disappoint users seeking a more tailored experience. In terms of battery life, the Insignia keyboard performs adequately, but it's not exceptional. While it won't leave you constantly searching for a charging cable, it's worth noting that some competitors offer longer battery endurance. To summarize, the Insignia Full-Size Wireless Ergonomic Membrane Keyboard has its strengths in comfort and design, but it falters in areas crucial for a seamless user experience. The occasional lag in wireless connectivity and the absence of backlighting are notable drawbacks. For users prioritizing comfort and a wireless setup in a well-lit environment, this keyboard might be a reasonable choice. However, those who demand top-notch performance and additional features might want to explore other options in the market.

No frills keyboard that's ergonomic
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Insignia keyboard is ergonomic and reduces wrist strain, but it lacks a lot of the “perks” that more expensive keyboards come with. I’ve been dealing with some tendonitis issues, and I was in the market for a keyboard that would help alleviate some of my pain. I’ve had luck with the Insignia brand, and I was eager to give this a try. The keyboard layout is split down the middle and angled in such a way as to reduce wrist strain. The keyboard has a nice, large wrist rest attached to it; but the wrist rest is made out of hard plastic (not cushioned in any way). It’s not the most comfortable of things to rest your wrists against, but it’s better than nothing. The most unusual part of this keyboard is the split spacebar. Half of the spacebar is with the keys on the left, and half is with the keys on the right. If you think about it too much, it feels weird and awkward, but I found that I forgot about it completely after typing for a few minutes. The keyboard is not backlit, and the key travel isn’t great. I found the key presses felt somewhat “mushy.” There are no extra function keys, but the keyboard does have a full number pad to the right. As far as pain reduction goes, this keyboard seems to do the trick. After an entire workday typing on it, I’m experiencing only minimal pain in my forearm. As a no-frills, pain reduction device to help me do my job, this keyboard gets the job done.

Will work but not function fully
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Insignia™ - Full-Size Wireless Ergonomic Membrane Keyboard – Black is somewhat a nice keyboard to own. It does allow my hands to rest better while using it and my fingers has less stress on them in comparison to a standard rectangular keyboard. The Insignia™ - Full-Size Wireless Ergonomic Membrane Keyboard – Black does allow me to type for longer periods of time, without my fingers becoming too tired. I could not get it to work at all at first. I had to unplug and then plug the USB dongle back in to get a connection. This not working happens several times, even though when I check my computer’s Bluetooth & Devices, I see 2.4G Wireless Ergonomic Keyboard connected. What I have a concern with is the F keys. I could not get any of them to function as stated in the setup guide. Sometimes they worked and other times they did not. I tried playing music with Windows media player and could play, pause, next, previous, go home, and launch calculator. Sometimes though I would press a F key in expectation of opening up one function and get a totally different function that I did not request to open. My computer is operating Windows 11 Home so I do not understand why I m not having complete functionality with the keyboard. I still like it, even with the few minor quirks that I need to figure out.

Comfortable yet flawed keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Insignia's ergonomic wireless keyboard provides comfort and visual appeal with a perfectly balanced shape and size. Unfortunately, some functional flaws make this decent keyboard somewhat frustrating to use and hard to recommend. The keyboard shape is perfect, exactly the type of configuration you'd expect from an ergonomic membrane. Hand-placement for the main keys is spot on, and the unit has tabs on the front wrist rest (oddly, not on the back though) to lift the keyboard even higher based on your comfort and preference. To the right and angled towards you are the arrow keys, several function keys, and at the far right a numeric pad. This keyboard has the full layout you need for your workspace, and with plug-and-play compatibility with Windows 10 and above , macOS, and ChromeOS, it is ready to use right out of the box. The shortcut keys are also very useful, with clear icons for each function that work flawlessly, without any customization needed. Packaged with the keyboard unit is its USB dongle (which can be stored on the underside of the keyboard magnetically), two AA batteries, and some brief instructions. Unfortunately, two things immediately stand out: one, this unit doesn't have a rechargeability aspect; and two, there isn't any Bluetooth capabilities. Now these aren't deal-breakers at all - some people may prefer using regular, alkaline batteries for their devices, and others may not mind using a USB port on their computer for a keyboard. However, these are personal preferences that vary from user to user. Upon installation of the batteries, I notice no power button and no keyboard backlight, the latter of which may be to save on the battery usage due to its lack of rechargeability, but it seems odd then not to have a power switch to further save energy. Finally, there are a few LED indicators on the top right for Number Lock, Caps Lock, and Low Battery. The keys feel nice and responsive. However, I had a major issue with the numeric pad keys, specifically the 0, 1, and 2. These keys required a heavy press to even function as compared to the rest of the keys. There was a noticeably different clicking noise for those keys, so I suspected it was a mechanical issue. I was able to pry up the keys to inspect and compare them to properly functioning ones, but they didn't look noticeably different. However, pressing down on them without the tile on with a pencil did produce the numbers on the screen properly. As a workaround, I inserted small scraps of paper under each of the keys to "tighten" the space between the keys and the base. This fixed the problem completely. This may have been singular to my experience, as stuck keys are extremely frustrating. Consumers may understandably be hesitant, but for me, the issue was fixable and the result is a perfectly functioning device. Ultimately, the Insignia ergonomic keyboard has some features and flaws that overshadow its comfort and form. While the keyboard itself is nice and now functions properly, I would probably look elsewhere.

Overall good basic ergonomic keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an acceptable basic ergonomic keyboard for home or office use. There are stands on the front of the keyboard to lift the wrist rest up higher which does make it more comfortable to type on. So far, I've been happy with typing on it with the keys being responsive and are generally reliable. I have had the space bar stick/get stuck when pushing it a specific way a couple times and for that reason I took the review down from 5 stars. The build quality is "okay" with it being plastic but surprisingly it did have some weight to it which was nice as it helps keep the keyboard firmly in place. It does have shared media keys on the F-keys that you can activate with the function button as a shortcut to volume controls, calculator, windows explorer, search and music which all work out of the box as you'd expect with no software needed to install. I do wish that it had smaller dedicated media keys for volume, calculator and explorer somewhere out of the way on the keyboard, but this design is functional and works. I'd recommend it as a good basic keyboard that is ergonomic which is a plus. For anyone who hasn't tried one, I'd say give it a chance if you can type without looking at the keys. Once you're used to it, you'll find that you can type faster with less effort on it vs. a standard keyboard.

Very positive experience
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll admit, i didnt think I would like using a keyboard designed like this. It was the whole separation of the literal keys on the keyboard and then the 'wavy" design of the keyboard itself. I have since found I prefer this over a standard designed keyboard hands down. Set up was simple and came with batteries to fire it up. The ergonomically design to this keyboard made typing not only feel more comfortable, but the bottom section of the device supports my wrists well and makes typing simple and most importantly, very comfortable. Since its wireless there is always a concern with key lag and when the cursor moves with the screen. I found this not to be an issue at all. Everything moved quickly and it is very responsive. Like most of us, I do a tremendous amount of typing for work. After a couple of days using this new keyboard, everything felt very natural. The only drawback for me personally is I do find myself looking at the keyboard more often, but that is on me and I'll adjust. It certainly isn't anything to do with the keyboard itself. I would recommend this Insignia product.
