This item was on a Black Friday sale so it was VERY inexpensive. It fit the MacBook Air laptop perfectly and looks great on it. Will definitely buy from Best Buy again!

I love my Macbook Air but for all of the beauty of a Mac they are easy to ding, scratch, etc. so a cover is essential. The Insignia Hardshell Case is designed to protect your Macbook. It was relatively easy to fit, there's two parts. One that clips to the screen and the other that clips to the keyboard/base. I haven't tried to remove the case now that it's on my Mac because it fits tight and I am worried I will damage the case during removal - which is all good, you want the case to stay on and be tight. Importantly, all port USB C and volume are fully and easily accessible. The only reason why I deducted a star is it's really not a "clear" case. I am not sure why it's called "clear" because it's not clear. It's more frosted than clear. I am not really sure how I feel about this because it's a little misleading, it looks good on my Space Gray Macbook but if you're looking for a true "clear" case this is not one. I would recommend this if you're an owner of a Space Gray Macbook Air. Which is what I own, I am not sure how the frosted cover would look on any of the other color Macs as you may prefer an actual "clear" case.

Works as a good protector. But I can see why it was half off. The frosted color came off in spots where now it looks like it’s dirty or something is on it. But overall fine with it since I only paid $15 and just needed something to protect my MacBook.

The Insignia MacBook AIR case is simple & easy protection. The two sections simply snap into place over the two halves of the laptop. You do need to pay close attention to make sure it is snapped on properly as the fit is tight. Openings are there for the USB-C ports. It is very thin so it is really more to protect the laptop from scratches & nicks. I don't really think it will give you much in the way of drop protection. If you are like me and want to keep your expensive investment looking like new, this is really a must have.

The Insignia Hardshell Case is a great inexpensive way of adding protection for your MacBook Air from bumps and scratches. I do like the frost finish and how it still gives a hint of the Space Gray color. The frost finish also helps to minimize fingerprints. The bottom part does have ventilation holes for heat dissipation. Installation was easy for the most part. I did find myself struggling a little bit more when installing the top part that goes over the display lid. It less of hassle if you start by sliding the bottom part in and then slowly work your way towards the top that has the 2 clips. The hardshell case does add little bit of bulk to the MacBook, so if you do used some sort of sleeve to stored away your MacBook you might have some issues. As much I love the finish of my MacBook, having this hardshell case gives me a peace of mind when using it outdoors.

Insignia cases do the job at a reasonable price! I was looking for a clear and slim case to protect my MacBook Air and I am happy with this case. The case has some vents in the bottom to let out any heat the MacBook might have, but I haven’t had my computer get too hot, but I appreciate the design and thought by Insignia. The installation was super easy, the case just clips on, so this is a plus. Thank you, Insignia, for a simple yet strong and quality case!

In a perfect world, no shell or case of any sort should be needed. After all, look is one of the reasons many of us buy a Mac. Unfortunately, they’re not tough enough to survive a major fall without the risk of breaking or at least getting some scratches. Because of that, the need of a case was born. And because many of us don’t want to change the look of our Mac, a clear case is the only option. This Insignia hard-shell, which was somewhat easy to install, does a good job of protecting my Mac. I was very happy about that part as well as about the slim profile, which was what I expected. It also feels good to the touch. My disappointment is that it is only partially clear, and it does change the look of my Mac somewhat. Exactly what I didn’t want. This is not to say that it makes it less attractive, but it is what I didn’t expect or want. If you don’t mind the somewhat new look, you will be satisfied with it. The rubber feet worked well to keep my Mac on both office desk and my dinner table, keeping my Mac in place. Some cases will make it harder to reach buttons and ports but this one won’t. In summary, this is a good quality case. As to recommending it, I would just ask you to be sure you don’t mind the change in looks. Maybe it won’t make a difference depending on the color of your Mac but it did make a difference for me. That's the reason for my 3-star rating. Otherwise, I would have rated it 5 stars.

I've only had this for a couple of weeks and the bottom clips already started cracking, I guess from the stress of being clipped on or off. It's really snug so it's hard to get on and off without adding extra pressure. The other reviews are right about the fingerprints but I don't really care about that. I'm more upset about the chipped corners.

The MacBook cover was bad quality. It first leaves the fingerprints on the cover when you touch it and it doesn’t come off. Also it breaks very easily, like just placing it down will break it. Do not waste your money and just buy a better cover
