I purchased this because I have an upcoming international travel and being carried in carry on bag and multiple times taking out for security checkins, I bought this to have some protection. Here is my take on this: 1. Over the few weeks, it become from frosted to transparent It also have some weird bubble spot on it within 2-3 days. 2. It fits perfectly Macbook Pro 14 inch 2021 model but the lack of instruction specially for the top screen part confused me little. Bottom part is easy even without instruction but top screen part is tricky. It can go either way, so I would have preferred a marking or something to indicate proper side. Definitely area of improvement. 3. It maintains original look and feel of the macbook. It has ventilation at the bottom to disperse the heat. All the ports are cut aptly, no issues there. 4. I am not sure or tested how much protection it will give but hoping it should cover good for the expensive item as being hard shell plastic case material. But something at least better than nothing. 5. It is light weight and does not increase the weight of the machine. 6. It helps at least from gathering dust. But I am not sure how the bubble scratches got into it even on first day of use. I did not travel or move with this. 7. 30$, I would not say very cheap, but if you can snag it in 20$, it's a steal. But there are better options from Apple or others for 50$ and over.

Thanks humanity - No more touchbar. M3 macbook pro. Its exactly what you expect, a small and fast MacBook pro. Minimilist and no bells and whistles at this price point. Dont expect anything groundbreaking. Esp if upgrading from the M-series already. If upgrading from an intel based apple, you will def discern a difference.

I was looking for a cheaper case to have because I wasn’t sure if I’d use it all the time or not, this is a pretty good option. It’s definitely not the most solid case but certainly prevents scratches or minor dings. I don’t love that it seems like the frosted finish shows finger prints, but for the price, I’ll deal with it.

Fits fine. Barely noticeable that it's on. Going to cover mine in stickers.

This case is simple, affordable, and effective. It kept my MacBook looking brand new after a year. I used it with the 2021 MacBook Pro 14”.

Fit is good but that is about it. The sides are already cracked already and I've taken the computer two places and it's been in it's sleeve. There are finger prints all over it that can't be cleaned off. Also important to note it doesn't protect the back of the computer. I expected better for $40. I'm probably gonna cover it in stickers and hope it covers the smudges.

It's definitely good for a temporary cover but does leave a lot of smudges on the top and the bottom of the case.

Great! I haven't gotten any issues with it BUT it has started to fade the frosted color to transparent/clear.

Luckily I got this thing for $8 open box so as not to leave the Macbook Pro unprotected and Incase is not worth $60 for what they offer either. I bought Vinyl to cover the top cover because as other reviews say, the stains and fingerprints spread incomprehensibly and there is no way to remove them, it seems that a child ate on top of it. Plastic is plastic and I'm not complaining about it and even though it doesn't protect the back corner it does give me some peace of mind having it. But it's definitely not worth $40, not even more than $8. Best Buy should offer more alternatives, like Spigen for example.

This is a review of Insignia Hard-Shell Case for 2016-2020 MacBook Pro 13”. The review is based on MacBook Pro 2020. It is a simple to install and give a clean but still maintaining the original color of the MacBook. Hands on the case, doesn’t feel much different form what would be without it. Bit slippery though. The space for ports looks clean and still providing enough distance between the edge of the case for practical usage to plug/unplug respectively each connectors. The bottom protector has ventilation opening to prevent over-heating, and rubberized feet that elevate the MacBook a bit. As per the product description it is meant for avoiding slipping and sliding, if this is the case, I would have liked bit thinner or almost to none to make flat across. As is, although for usage might not represent discomfort, for placing in the bag sometime creates hassle as attempt to slide in and need to accommodate. Other than description above, the case does maintain the original look of the MacBook giving some level of protection against possible scratch and dents while being also light and simple.

As my title says, I think this is case is an excellent insurance item for your very expensive MacBook Pro. As glorious as the aluminum shell of the MBP is, I have definitely seen my past models and others' get dented and scratched up with just general moderate mobile use. If you can afford a one-thousand dollar plus laptop, there is no reason not to snag yourself one of these cases offered from Insignia at Best Buy. The install was easy and painless. There are no frills or unnecessary bells or whistles, just a good, snap on hardshell case with a secure fit. As a bonus, for this specific model 2016-2020, all of the speakers ports were cut in precisely the right location! Don't skip a case if you use your laptop as a mobile device (or at all really). I’d been looking for a lightweight and protective case for my MacBook Pro that keeps it looking elegant and I’m pretty happy with this case so far. I like the frosted matte look. It is fingerprint resistant while having some grip. All the ports remain accessible and it has cutouts for the air vents on the bottom. I’ll probably put some stickers on it later to add some flair hah. I don’t know if it’ll protect my laptop from a high fall, but I’m pretty confident in saying that it’ll protect it from getting scratched and scuffed from everyday normal use. And that’s all I really wanted. Would I recommend if? Yes! Absolutely! You spent a bunch of money on that shiny MacBook and I’m sure you want to give it some protection. It’s elegant and lightweight. Love it.

First of all, this is an incredible value for $14.99 (retail/online at time of purchase and review) that I don’t regret buying. If you want a cheap, solid case for your MacBook this is a great option that still really lets the color come through, isn’t too thick, and is decently solid. There are definitely detriments though. The biggest being that it’s prone to cracking on the corners VERY easily, I had this start happening around 6 months of ownership. Also definitely a fingerprint magnet, and liquid that gets on it may slightly stain the case. But, nonetheless, I do recommend it. I previously owned a brand-name competitor for my older model of rMBP which also did crack pretty easily, and that is partially just the nature of this, but the finish was much better. Depends on your value of a $15 vs $55 product.

This case fits the new MacBook 14 perfectly. It snapped right on just like other hard case and gives you the same basic protection for the MacBook. It doesn’t have the fancy texture of other brand’s but it does the function of protecting your shiny MacBook 14 from dirt and scratches.

The hard case shell fits perfectly on my new MacBook Pro 14. Very easy to install. Bottom part comes with holes for ventilation purposes. Good protection to avoid scratches and dirt for a very good price.

The case fits well, and seems like it will hold up for a little while. The only negative so far is that it definitely holds finger smudges a lot easier than I'd like, but at the sale price this case is a winner.
