    Great for Projectors

I used this product for my Epson ex3220 projector at home with my ps3. With epson projectors on loud volumes, the sound can be very disturbing. I plugged my ps3 to the HDMI in and my projector to the HDMI out while I had an aux to rca Cable (and rca connector back to aux included) to the product. Then I played my quality audio from my speaker. Now I can watch movies and enjoy games with friends better.

Roku to TV and Home Theater Connection....

    Posted .

My situation....I wanted to connect my Roku to my TV and Surround Sound theater system. My Home Theater was an older model that did not have HDMI inputs. The Roku Models typically do not have Optical Output Audio Connections. So i needed an adapter that would allow me to connect the Roku video to the TV and route the Roku Audio to my Home Theater...... This adapter did exactly what i wanted it to do. if anyone is switching over to Roku Streaming but doesn't have a way to connect to their Audio systems via HDMI...this is exactly what you are looking for. Unfortunately, the Best Buy Customer service guy tried to convince me that this would not work with video. He didn't even attempt to look at what this adapter did. Luckily i knew this would work and I'm happy to with the results. Definitely recommend!

I bought another HDMI audio extractor from Amazon that did not work so I tried this model from my local BestBuy and it worked perfect. I tried both optical audio and the headphone jack using the 2ch option. Both worked as I would expect connected to my Control4 Audio Matrix.

DTS 5.1 sound from Chromecast Google TV

I have an older Samsung TV that has an optical output, but is limited to 2 channel Dolby Digital. I lost the DTS capability of the Chromecast Google TV device into my older Marantz SR7000 receiver. The Insignia HDMI Audio Extractor solved my issue and now I can watch the Chromecast Google TV and enjoy full theater sound (DTS 5.1). Happy camper.

We have an inflatable screen and projector for outside movies, this converter works perfectly with our speaker system. When we tried to watch movies without it, we experienced audio lag and muffled sounds.
