Great supporting piece of equipment especially if used with gaming systems (xbox/ps4). It is easy to use and setup. Very portable and doesn't take up too much space. Good sound quality so far with use of gaming headset with it.

I bought Insignia™ - HDMI Audio Extractor with 4K @ 60Hz / HDR Support - Black Model:NS-HZ340; SKU:6324750 a few months ago in preparation for when I purchased my new projector. The audio extractor works great for pushing out a 5.1 audio signal to my Sonos sound system while still supplying a nice 4k picture to my previous video system. The reason for only 3 stars is because the audio extractor does not support HDR as mentioned in the in the title of the link. I have thoroughly inspected my cables to ensure they are HDMI 2.1 compliant and the only limiting factor I can find is the audio extractor. When connecting my HDR sources directly to the video system I can change HDR option menus, but when I add the audio extractor my HDR menu is then grayed out.

AirPlay2 Streaming

I needed a way to stream audio from IOS devices using AirPlay2 to a whole house audio system. Paired this with a ROKU Express 4K+ and it works like a champ. The only audio output on the ROKU is via HDMI, so this device allows connecting the ROKU to the whole house RCA Line In jacks. Now, whatever I am listening to on my iPad, iPhone, or Mac can be streamed to the whole house audio system using AirPlay2. Need to connect the ROKU to a TV for setup, but no longer requires a TV once this is completed.

I purchased this to get better audio out of my Xbox. I use a Roku Streambar (soundbar and streaming device in one). Unfortunately Roku required an optical port that my TV was too old to have. This box solved my problem.

I had to return this item because it wasn't what I needed. The young man helping me with the return was wonderful. He looked online, found what I needed and helped me order it. I could never have done it without his help.

So far so good. The device does do what it design for. The only gripe is that it has issues staying connected to audio after computer is logged out or in safe mode. I have to unplug it just get audio back on.
My Wife got herself a new computer and it didn't doesn't support optical so this was an alternative.

This is a great product, but it still didn't work with my TV. If your TV HAS NO VIDEO/SOUND OUTPUT OPTIONS...NOTHING WILL HELP YOU LIGHT UP A SOUNDBAR.

Since the PS5 no longer has an optical port, I needed this to connect my Arctis Pro + DAC headset. You can use the USB port, but since I was also using a video capture card, I couldn't get audio to both my headset (via USB) and to my recorded gameplay.
This extractor allowed me to do both perfectly. I don't notice any input lag or loss of video quality either.

Probably fine if you want to split it pain ole HDMI audio, but does not work for ARC. So I returned it, because I needed it to work for ARC. Tried something else from Amazon, but that did not work at all. So no cheap ARC audio options except a dedicated soundbar.

Worked great for me. I had an old speaker system that still works well and uses AV and optical cables, but not HDMI. I am loth to change it or get rid of it. I am now able to connect my new TV system to the speakers by using this HMDI-AV converter. Very happy with it!

I spent more than I’d hoped but this little device has been essential in my theater set up in a fifty year old auditorium. I can pull the sound from the source to go through the auditorium speakers while displaying the movie on the auditorium screen for a movie theater like experience. Happy with the purchase, but not sure it shouldn’t be cheaper.

I would not great sound off my projector the volume was too low. I needed something to extract sound off my stream player i had no idea how to get out. I went to the store and asked an associate for help and explained the situation. The associate suggested the sound extractor and it works great i get more sound and i could still use my projector to play movies at home. Thank you for everything.
