The extractor was easy to set up and did pull audio out of every HDMI stream I tried (Roku stick and Apple TV 4K). However, the best audio stream I was able to extract was recognized as Pro Logic II by my AVR and not 5.1 DD or DTS, despite digging into a range of audio settings on the Roku and Apple TV 4K. So, is it better than nothing? Yes... but I was hoping to pull the full 5.1 DD/DTS stream from the HDMI and have my AVR recognize it as such, and I wasn't able to achieve that. Ended up returning it.

Bought for usage with the new Xbox Series X that no longer has an optical port. I use this device with an Astro Mixamp Pro TR as I much prefer the wired Dolby Digital processing instead of the new Dolby Atmos they are trying to make everyone use. Hopefully Atmos gets better in the future but for now this device makes my experience better.

The audio extractor worked perfect and was easy to connect. I connected my projector that has no built in speaker and a Roku with it to my Bose system. We are now enjoying movies on our back yard and in a big screen in our room. Thanks for the awesome product!

This product definitely works, it does everything that I need to do. The only reason why I didn’t give her five stars is because every once in a while it does cut out. But it’s normally back home within three seconds.

I used this to route HDMI audio from a game console that didn't have optical audio out to a TOSLINK optical audio port on an older surround sound receiver. Works as advertised.

This HDMI audio extractor works great. I have it hooked up to my projector because the sound was subpar on the speaker that I have because I found out that the projector is not all that loud. Even when I use my speaker bar the sound can be muffled a bit. Whit this extractor the sound is very clear.

This device simple to setup and works well. My only minor concern is that it feels like it's made of cheap plastic which leaves me a bit concerned about durability.

I had an overly excited child pull just a touch to hard on my optical output cable and in the process, messed up the output jack on the television. This little gizmo bridges the gap perfectly in replacing the output for digital audio by rerouting it through my reciever.

I needed something to work with my vintage analog receiver to run into an HDMI Oppo BD player and this little audio extractor gadget saved the day. Much better than an external DCA. Highly reconneded.

Works as it should just plug this baby in and away you go. Sound when you didn’t have it. Quality product

Worked perfectly at 4K @ 60hz with my PS5 and SteelSeries Pro headset. Unfortunately the quality of sound was better with my old Mixamp and A50's plugged directly to USB and that's it.
If needed, this extractor works great - it just adds to the spaghetti mess which is now your PS5 setup lol!

Occasionally freaks out with resolution changes. Flickering is the main symptom -- if you get flickering, check for a constant resolution option

Nice little device! I was hooking up a Chromecast TV to an older computer monitor that had no built in speakers. To get audio, I used this device. Chromcast plugged into the front, audio lead out the back (used 3.5mm headphone jack) to my speakers and Bob's your uncle.

Audio worked with my Chromecast Ultra that is connected to this, then to a speaker with AUX cable - w/o output HDMI connected.
