After buying another product that didn't work at all, I bought this at my local Best Buy. Now i can use my 7.1 surround sound with no issues! My system is older, and i can only use an optical cable.

Great solution for headphones that require optical

The headphones rely on an optical connection which they got rid of on the Series X. Been using it for a few weeks now and no glitches. I'm using it with a 1080p projector so I can't comment on how it works with 4k yet.

I have a BOSE lifestyle 28 system which does not have an HDMI input so when I bought my projector I needed to figure out how to get sound from BOSE when using the Projector. This audio extractor has an optical output which I use to connect to the BOSE via optical input. The sound is great.

I get an HDMI converter cable, and the big picture is great!!! But I couldn't hear anything as my monitor is picture only. This item to the rescue! Exactly what I needed. Clear sounding on my headphones.

Everything worked great until I tried to watch a movie. This product DOESNT SUPPORT 4K at 24hz. (Standard for most 4k video) if im wrong or set it up incorrectly, my bad, but I dont think I am. As soon as I hook it up my xbox says it doesnt support 4k @24hz

Throughput Capped at 60fps

The 4K/HDR throughput is great but it’s capped at 60fps. Keep that mind if buying for the same reason. Other than that, the device works great. I recommend this to anyone that wants the option for optical audio for peripherals that lack the port.
