It allows us to stream easily. Our tv probably has a few years left and this adds in additional options. Easy to hook up as well.

I tried this process 3 years ago and couldn't complete it. I conversed my old tv to be able to use a fire stick and got it to work this time.

I wanted to connect my Roku, Digital Converter Box, and a PlayStation 3 via and HDMI switch. I was floored to see how clear the Composite 480i signal was from the down-conversion. I am impressed with how well the circuitry performed and am recommending it to anyone tinkering with an older TV. Best Buy hit is out of the park with this one!

I am using the device to connect to the stereo when I want to use the dvd player as a cd player--and then I switch the cord from the tv to the stereo.

I had already connected an old VCR (yes, I said VCR) using A/V cables and I needed to connect a very old DVD player to a fairly new TV. Since there was only an HDMI connection available, the converter was the perfect solution.
