Not enough signal/volume for my application.

Ultimately, this device did not provide enough signal/volume to accomplish the task. Solved problem using “Insignia™ - HDMI Audio Extractor - Black” which did provide enough volume and had more capabilities. The product likely would work well if you are trying to use an old TV or monitor that only has RCA jacks and no HCMI input with a device that only has an HDMI output.

When I originally hooked up both units the DVD/VHS player would playback only in black and white. The tech at Best Buy told me to try this and see if it would work only he couldn't guarantee if it worked. When hooking this up to both units I still had the same problem. Too bad when manufacturers make new technology that can also keep the old technology so it will work with both. It is expensive to keep updating one's collections to new technology.
