||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I guess the underlying technology in converting an HDMI video signal into RCA ( so you can hookup modern devices to an older monitor ) has its inherent limitations, as the instructions will warn about a very "soft" picture. It seems counter-intuitive because a good RCA video source signal yields a much better video picture than a HDMI signal converted to RCA. Overall blurry image, and smaller text is unreadable. This really wasn't able to work satisfactorily hooking a Mac Mini to a video projector, nor any HDMI gaming devices we tried. I ended up keeping it for emergencies in a pinch, or perhaps some other combination of video camera / monitor setup I haven't tried might work better.

Connection issues

Awesome device

The problem was there are No HDMI jacks to plug into on this tv. I tried several less expensive converters and nothing worked. Til I tried this plug which is powered. I can now use my Roku stick and get streaming on this tv. LOVE IT.

There is HDMI to RCA for going from a computer to a projector. There is RCA to HDMI to go from an old VCR to the TV. They are not interchangeable or bi-directional.

Bringing back the old tube tv

I have an old tube-type that was just collecting dust until I found this gizmo and after figuring out the resolution that worked best, I can now watch movies on the 36 inch tube tv that just used to sit there and collect dust.
