Want to Thank the great staff in Pineville NC for all their help. I went in to the store looking to purchase a new LDC screen due to my new PC and the staff suggested I simply covert the HIMD with an Adopter. They saved me a $100.. Great product and easy to assemble. Be sure to always consult with your Best Buy rep.. They are simple the best in the business for electronics!

Works as it should. Very good value. Enabled me to use my 27 inch AOC flat screen monitor.

I got this to hook up a third monitor to my CPU, but I found that my video card could only handle the DVI or HDMI at one time, not both (user error). But, when I was using the adapter it worked well. Just make sure you know what works with your CPU.

I bought it to utilize a large screen projector with my company laptop since it has HDMI ports instead of VGA ports. It works as designed. I chose this one because of price, other positive reviews and because it accommodates the screw-in post terminals of my VGA cord. I would recommend it if you're in the same situation.

My laptop screen was smashed when a large chunk of the ceiling fell on it. The machine was pretty much a total loss; I just needed to get my data off of it.. The adapter worked exactly as the Best Buy associate said: I plugged one end into the HDMI slot on the laptop, plugged the monitor into the other end, and voila! I could transfer the data, even though the computer glitched and froze every other command.

I have a laptop with HDMI video out only. Now that I am working from home I wanted to use a bigger desktop monitor. Added this and now my monitor is a second screen to my laptop screen. Love being able to drag apps across the two and use the bigger desktop monitor for spreadsheets.

wanted to connect my HP Envy laptop to an existing external monitor.. purchased and returned three different adapters via amazon, and finally went to Best Buy to speak with someone who knew what they were talking about.. Recommended the adapter, which I bought, came home, plugged in, and it worked! YAY!

This Insignia Adapter does exactly what it says it does, the picture is a little different from the actual product you get but it still works like it should. highly recommend this adapter if you want to connect an old monitor or anything else with the VGA connection.

In today's quickly changing tech pace I find myself searching for adapters that can keep my experiences new until I can purchase newer gear. Sure, VGA has been long extinct, but when you've accumulated multiple monitors and boxes of said ilk, a $14 solution is a blessing!

A lot of the new machines aren't coming with VGA hookups anymore - HDMI or displayport only, especially the HP Envy series of desktops! Check your monitor before buying a new machine, if it only takes VGA you'll need this to use the existing monitor. Once you get home, there's no real setup - just plug it in and go!

When it comes to upgrading a computer or laptop, there are always things you didn't anticipate that cause you headaches. Besides all the software apps that Windows 10 wiped out, mine was connecting a second monitor which only had the old 15 pin VGA connection. Of course the new laptop only had USB and HDMI connections. This adapter solved the problem.
