I got a new computer with an HDMI jack for the monitor. My well-working, but older, monitor has a VGA plug. This adapter accommodates the need to match up the new computer and the older monitor. It is an easy couple of connections, and the adapter is working perfectly.

Wanted to put an older computer back into use solely for video conferencing in my family room while staying at home "social distancing". This let me continue to use the newer desktop in I have in my home office while others in the family could visit with friends and family on the older one in our family room. Unfortunately I had to use an even older video monitor that supported only VGA out with a computer that didn't support that as an input! Solution, this device. It allowed me to connect the older video screen with the (somewhat) newer computer. No bugs or glitches. Worked great! Nice patch at a reasonable price.

I wasn't sure if it was possible at all to add a third monitor to a new docking station. This adapter made it all happen at a lower than expected price. It works like a charm and I just couldn't be happier!

Have an old monitors that doesn't have a HDMI output, this is simply a fast and small gadget that fix my problem. Connecting is very simple, doesn't even need to bother with the screwing the sides, just plug in and push the VGA part all the way in to connect well. After few weeks, it still works pretty well, still doesn't have any trouble on connection between monitors and pc so far, because was worried about if the connected parts will go loose without screwing into the sides. I would definitely recommend this to my colleague if they need it.

I purchased this not knowing much about it or its competitors. However, this one cost about $20 less than the others and that's all I could afford. I took a chance to save some money and I'm glad I did! The Insignia works just as good if not better than the more pricey versions! My colleagues have more expensive versions that they always seem to have issues with, but so far this one hasn't failed me. Don't pay more, this one's great! In the spirit of fairness, the one con I found about it is there are no screw sockets to hold it in place to the VGA cord. But, it fits nice and snug anyway!

This is exactly what I needed to get my new laptop to work with my old projector. My laptop has an hdmi output, but my projector only has a vga input. It worked out and there were no issues with the functionality. I did not try to use sound through the hdmi, so I can't say if sound can be transferred through the usb/power port on the adapter. I can't figure out why sometimes the adapter needed to be plugged in with the usb power cable and sometimes it didn't. It worked for what I needed it to do, so I am very happy with the product.

Have used this adapter with both of my Dell Inspiron laptops. Connected my HDMI out to a VGA monitor at 1920x1080. Connected my HDMI out to a VGA projector at 800x600. Displays were sharp and clear. Was able to clone the external display to show same as laptop screen. Was able to create an extended desktop with laptop display at native resolution and external monitor/projector at their native resolutions. And this was much cheaper than the Dell-branded adapter.

Bought to hook my VGA monitor to my laptop. Plug N Play works perfectly. It can be used as a duel-screen solution, which I do sometimes. But my primary purpose was for playing older video games. I can often get these games to run on my Win 8.1 laptop but the max resolution on these games is too low to fill the screen of my laptop (games appear as a tiny square in the middle of the laptop monitor - old games like Diablo or Steel Panthers). This product allowed me to cast the video onto a monitor which I could set to a lower resolution to fit the games. Great solution for me!

I was looking for a way to send my video on my Mac to my projector but my Mac only has hdmi outputs and my projector only has a VGA inputs. I was looking for an easy way to bridge the divide. I wasn't sure if this would work or not, but I bought in opened the package and plugged it in with a prayer as I had no time to search for another solution. Worked right off! no adjusting or fiddling around, it just did exactly what I wanted it to do. Five stars all around.

I needed an adapter to use my HDMI cable with a monitor that only had a VGA port and this was super easy to use. If you do not have a power supply on the HDMI‘s end, you will likely need to plug in a micro-usb cable into the adapter that is plugged into a power supply (outlet or portable battery) to power the adapter’s connection.

I purchased a new laptop but discovered that it only had HDMI ports and did not have any VGA ports. I had an older monitor that was still in great shape that I wanted to use. This product was a great solution to my problem and worked without any set up. You will need a micro usb power source to use this with a Mac.

Imagine my surprise when my new monitor couldn't be installed because the cord didn't fit into the new computer. A long trip on the internet led me to the best price at Best Buy. The cord is exactly what was needed. I found out the hard way that it is easily disconnected, so my advice is to be sure everything is very tight and position it so it won't be moved as it will come loose easily.

I had to buy this for my business laptop since it only has HDMI. I use it for presentations quite often and I have to use the AV equipment and projector that they have available, which is sometimes only VGA. It has worked fine every time and I have not had any problems with it. Plus, it's fairly inexpensive. Definitely worth it.

None of my monitors has HDMI so that when I went to replace my OLD computer, I assumed that I would have to replace my monitor. NOT SO. This adapter plugs into the back of my existing (old monitor) and then into the HDMI cable coming from my new computer and it worked. What a money saver and it was super easy. Thanks Best Buy guy.

This is a great adapter. It was exactly what I needed to be able to run a dual-monitor setup on a couple of the computers at my medical facility. It provides a high quality signal to the VGA monitors and it has the screw ports to allow secure connection of the VGA cable where many adapters similar to this one do not have those.

This connector works perfectly to allow my newer HP Envy laptop to utilize my older flatscreen computer monitor that has no HDMI input, only VGA ports. The connection is straight-forward, simple, and easy and it works as expected. I would recommend this to anyone needing a similar connector.
