I did not know what I needed. I had to make another appointment. I took it back, explained what was wrong. I am glad the geek knew what he was doing. He fixed me up right then and there. He should get a raise or at least a bonus. I am very happy with his help. Wish I could remember his name. You must know who it was anyway. Due to his help I will be back soon to shop for a laptop. Easy Set-Up for Two Screens with Older Monitor

After doing a bit of research, I stumbled upon this cable that was in stock (a cheaper version was out of stock at another major retailer). I am very happy with my purchase as it does exactly what I need it to do. I connected the other end of the VGA cable on the Acer laptop to this adapter cable and then connected it to the HDMI port on my laptop and was good to go. I highly recommend this adapter if you're looking to connect a monitor with a VGA cable only to a laptop via HDMI connection. I am now able to work with two screens instantly.
