Works perfectly!

Easy Set-Up for Two Screens with Older Monitor

After doing a bit of research, I stumbled upon this cable that was in stock (a cheaper version was out of stock at another major retailer). I am very happy with my purchase as it does exactly what I need it to do. I connected the other end of the VGA cable on the Acer laptop to this adapter cable and then connected it to the HDMI port on my laptop and was good to go. I highly recommend this adapter if you're looking to connect a monitor with a VGA cable only to a laptop via HDMI connection. I am now able to work with two screens instantly.

Great little adapter

The monitor I was going to use only had DP and VGA, the source (raspberry pi) only had HDMI. This was more cost effective than an active HDMI to DP adapter. I usually keep an assortment of adapters in my tech bag just in case, I may end up purchasing another one to have on hand. Ever been in a hotel room? - adapters a MUST!, and next to that a universal remote :)
