Easy flexibility

It allows laptop (with HDMI output) to connect to a traditional monitor with VGA connector cable to expand my desktop to 2 screens. This was easier than getting new HDMI-VGA cable and having to reconnect different cables to monitor when needing to switch from laptop back to desktop.
