I had an older monitor that I wanted to hook up to my newer laptop for a extended extra monitor, and this product did exactly what it was intended to do.

It works great and isn't flimsy. As another reviewer named OneOldBob- mentioned, this adapter includes an audio port and a USB power/charging port. That is very helpful since you will need external audio output, and it gives you that extra port in easy reach. I'm using this setup for work so I don't notice if it provides video game-style speed. However, I haven't noticed any lag whether for giant spreadsheets or video. Overall I'm glad to have this. An older monitor isn't going to waste.

this is an excellent adapter to have on hand. for example, if you need to partner an older monitor or pc with newer equipment, it works like a charm.

Great invention, it allows me to connect my Windows Laptop to a Monitor, so that I can do research on one screen.

Great for use in a multi-screen setting. Pretty much plug in and go. No software needed, which was nice as some adapters do require software.
