Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Insignia heatsink [NS-PM2HS(-C)] for an NMVe SSD in my desktop PC. I got home and assembled it according to the directions. Fully assembled with my single-sided WD_Black SN770 and silicone pads, I noticed the drive wobbling around and sliding out. Turns out that one of the pads is only half as thick as the other (pad 1= 2mm, pad 2= 1mm). Maybe they did this to better support double-sided drives but for single-sided drives it means the heatsink is functionally useless without purchasing at least 1 new pad separately. Maybe I was just unlucky and mine came from a bad lot or something. If not, then they should specify that this heatsink is not compatible "out of the box" with single-sided NVMe drives.

Why only one heatsink

M.2 heatsinks and search not shows this one. Why 13 other choices, many in front of the actual heatsink but no actual heatsinks but this one. Quit pushing products and actually make a search not a waste of time.
