I wanted a contactless thermometer for obvious reasons but always had to turn to in ear or oral thermometer to get an accurate readings. I would measure 98.8 and in ear and oral would read 102.2. If I would place in another part of the forehead, measurement would vary 1 or 2 degrees. Oral and in ear were always consistent. Maybe a more expensive or different brand would work better.

Very surprised others gave approving ratings. Missed the window for return unfortunately. Did get 80% off the price as a Deal of the Day! Also this "exclusive" Insignia product is marketed elsewhere as Dr. T.......s thermometer. Interesting?

I tried it when I first received it and it worked, so I put it away. A couple months later I went to use it and it didn't work. I changed the batteries, no luck. I bought new batteries, and still it did not even turn on. By this time it was too late to return it!
