I had one inside my backpack, inside a zipped pocket with the ring attached to the loop inside the pocket. I only removed it from the backpack a few times to attach it so some other item temporarily. It was never on the outside (like I would with a luggage tag). The silicon ripped causing it to separate from the ring. And, BTW, the AirTag can fall out of the case easily too.

Good product but be careful

I am still using some but one of them could not be used on my work keys. Not entirely the fault of the product, but be careful.

Poor quality key ring; falls off keychain

Owned for 7 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've lost two of my AirTags because the metal keyring that comes with this opens too easily, causing it fall off the rest of my keychain. (You have to use another keychain for most keys because the diameter of the keyring that comes with this is too wide for many keys). Fortunately AirTags are, well, findable, so both times I've lost one I've been able to find it by driving back to the store I lost them at. Works fine with a different key ring.

However, the key ring itself is another matter. On two different occasions, I have had the closure mechanism fail, and all my keys dropped onto the floor. In one case, I almost lost the key to my apartment. These are fine to clip them onto a bag, etc., but ditch the key ring itself, and use a sturdier key ring to hold your vital keys.
