Easy to use just follow the instructions
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use. I almost didn't get this due to other reviews about the little clip on the inside. If you follow the instructions though, you shouldn't have any problems.

Work with NVME drives
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.External enclosure for an internal NVME drive. Used to clone a new cheap computer small built-in drive onto a larger replacement with Macrium. Worked perfect! Later i will install another 1TB and presto a back-up drive!

Amazing
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great. Did everything I needed it to do. Only issue is I couldn’t get the ssd card flatly secured. But it still worked without having to secure it.

Works nicely and pretty easy to use
|Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ordered an external NMVE drive for a mini PC and wanted to put it in an enclosure so I could use it between both the mini PC and ROG Ally for game storage and this worked nicely. I haven't used an external enclosure like this before, but it feels very sturdy and I like the USB-C to USB-A adapter it comes with to move data from an older PC to the newer drive and then benefit from USB-C speeds on a newer PC. The included instructions are okay - but could use some improvements because the illustrations are kind of low-res and hard to see.

Practical, works fine, needs design improvement
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this in a pinch, because it was all Best Buy had. Enclosures like this will enclose heat, which is bad. A heat-sink for an M.2 would attach to the M.2 card directly. This unit has an air gap. If you are going to be doing a 2TB backup or clone, I suggest taking it out of that enclosure so air can get around it, and/or buy a tiny little heat-sink to stick on it.

For my M1 base model Macbook Air!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this enclose and a 1TB Samsung 980 Pro to store and run my vsts from. So far its been working well with all the sounds on the drive running in Logic. I downloaded and copied the sound from the macbook to the drive. It appears to be capped at around 500Mbps when writing the files to the drive. I could see by how fast it was transferring gig and gigs of data. It will do the job. Hopefully it lasts a long time but I also plan to backup my files to another backup drive. The case does get warm when using but I have not noticed any performance changes even when copying a lot of data and running the vsts.

Another solid Insignia device, with one hangup...
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a purchase of opportunity, I was actively shopping for something else when I noticed this sitting on the shelf. I didn't even know Insignia had this device available, it looked nice and well made plus was priced very well. Everything about it works as you would expect, transfer speeds depend greatly on the drive you put inside as well as the port you plug it in to. I knew going into it that it doesn't support SATA, but it is still a let down. Most of the other devices like this support PCIe and SATA, which is why only 4 stars. All in all, a nice looking, well built (tool-less) device. I have already bought a couple more.

Works great, but gets a little warm
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gets pretty warm as you'd expect with NVME SSDs in general, but I wouldn't expect active cooling at this price point. I wouldn't use this if you'll be doing heavy read/write workloads for long periods of times, but for quickly moving files around it's perfect.

Deceptively awkward to use
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A little bit confusing to operate, if one could believe a device like this needs any "operation". What I mean is it's not a straightforward plug and play. You can not find the files that were on the drive where you expected them to be, and some files simply do not show at all. It takes a learning curve to become comfortable with it, but even so, some promises remain unfulfilled when you can never see again some of the files that were (or still are?) on the drive you are using this for.

Works well but instructions missing important step
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The instruction were unclear with how to close it with the SSD inside. If you can clarify that it would be 5 stars. The pin has some space for the SSD to slot in before trying to close it.

Solid SSD enclosure
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I may have received a returned item, as it was missing the USB-C to USB-C cable. Worked well for cloning my SSD, but was very slow likely due to the lack of cable mentioned above, since it probably comes with a better cable than the one I had to use. Solidly built, but the locking mechanism is a little chintzy and hard to figure out- make sure the hole where the SSD is normally screwed into the mobo is securely fitted into the groove on the locking mechanism.
