Works great. My laptop broke. Removed the 2 ssd's in the laptop, and used this to recover all my data to transfer over to another computer.

I didn’t even know I needed this. I bought an SSD card online and found out my PC didn’t didn’t have a place for it. Called Geek squad, they gave me an item number of something I could buy to help with it, and it was for an SD card. I went up to BestBuy to talk to someone in person to figure out what I actually needed and they gentleman there said there really wasn’t anything we could do unless we bought a whole new computer. No thank you. I decided to walk around and one of the sales members new exactly what I needed just by over hearing me on the phone. Walked me right to this item. Exactly what I needed and was a fantastic price. It was all crazy and slightly frustrating but this item has been amazing.

This product worked as stated. It was easy to insert the SSD drive into the enclosure, and after that, it was plug-and-play. I was able to recover all the files from my old computer.

Works as intended. The casing is actually metal and well designed which I was shocked about for the price. I was able to clone my other m.2 with ease and now I use my old m.2 within this case as a large flash drive. My only wish is that the c to c cord that came with it was a bit longer but highly recommend.

This was a purchase of opportunity, I was actively shopping for something else when I noticed this sitting on the shelf. I didn't even know Insignia had this device available, it looked nice and well made plus was priced very well. Everything about it works as you would expect, transfer speeds depend greatly on the drive you put inside as well as the port you plug it in to. I knew going into it that it doesn't support SATA, but it is still a let down. Most of the other devices like this support PCIe and SATA, which is why only 4 stars. All in all, a nice looking, well built (tool-less) device. I have already bought a couple more.

I purchased this enclose and a 1TB Samsung 980 Pro to store and run my vsts from. So far its been working well with all the sounds on the drive running in Logic. I downloaded and copied the sound from the macbook to the drive. It appears to be capped at around 500Mbps when writing the files to the drive. I could see by how fast it was transferring gig and gigs of data. It will do the job. Hopefully it lasts a long time but I also plan to backup my files to another backup drive. The case does get warm when using but I have not noticed any performance changes even when copying a lot of data and running the vsts.

This enclosure works absolutely fantastically. It speeds are phenomenal compared to a couple of enclosures that I got from Amazon that were a bit cheaper. The speeds are blazing fast approaching newtoy 1 GB/s. I eas getting 35-45MB/s with the ones from amazon and thats if they didnt dreeze or not be read by windows.

    Nice Enclosure for M.2 SSD

The M.2 enclosure does exactly what it advertises. I should note that the drives can get warm, even while doing read operations. Make sure to use the included thermal pads on the SSD to make sure the heat gets transferred to the aluminum shell. This would be best used for a more "permanent" SSD installation, though if you just need to image or restore parititions, you can do that with the shell off. Just be sure to have a little fan blow air on it.
