Need to use a external enclosure for extra storage for a employee when we upgraded his laptop from factory. He said it worked like a champ and was easy to use. Depending on what you have a m.2 installed, it could get hot to the touch.

I ordered an external NMVE drive for a mini PC and wanted to put it in an enclosure so I could use it between both the mini PC and ROG Ally for game storage and this worked nicely. I haven't used an external enclosure like this before, but it feels very sturdy and I like the USB-C to USB-A adapter it comes with to move data from an older PC to the newer drive and then benefit from USB-C speeds on a newer PC. The included instructions are okay - but could use some improvements because the illustrations are kind of low-res and hard to see.

Got it to recover data from a bricked laptop, did what it was supposed. Now I’m left with a ssd housed in the product which can also be used as a external hard drive now!

As fast as advertised. Makes upgrading SSD very easy. I used this reader and Macrium Reflect to image copy my old SSD to the new one.

I bought this in a pinch, because it was all Best Buy had. Enclosures like this will enclose heat, which is bad. A heat-sink for an M.2 would attach to the M.2 card directly. This unit has an air gap. If you are going to be doing a 2TB backup or clone, I suggest taking it out of that enclosure so air can get around it, and/or buy a tiny little heat-sink to stick on it.

Works - had an extra SSD and wanted to use it when I transfer files.

This is by far the best purchase I made this year. I use this every day when traveling. It is small enough to tuck away in the laptop bag and is a must have for road warriors. The speed is superb.

Works well, keeps NVME SSD in place pretty well comes with a heat sink as a bonus

Works great but you can't fit an NVMe with a heatsink. I had to take off the heatsink of my NVMe to get it to fit

I may have received a returned item, as it was missing the USB-C to USB-C cable. Worked well for cloning my SSD, but was very slow likely due to the lack of cable mentioned above, since it probably comes with a better cable than the one I had to use. Solidly built, but the locking mechanism is a little chintzy and hard to figure out- make sure the hole where the SSD is normally screwed into the mobo is securely fitted into the groove on the locking mechanism.

Very good NVMe to USB-C enclosure. Does a good job and very portable. Doesn't run too hot. I'd recommend if you are need of a portable solution.

Works great. Did everything I needed it to do. Only issue is I couldn’t get the ssd card flatly secured. But it still worked without having to secure it.

Gets pretty warm as you'd expect with NVME SSDs in general, but I wouldn't expect active cooling at this price point. I wouldn't use this if you'll be doing heavy read/write workloads for long periods of times, but for quickly moving files around it's perfect.

This gives you the ability to have faster and more affordable external storage. I compared to other external SSD all in ones and this one combined with an internal SSD drive is more affordable and can be switched out, allowing more options and backups.

Honestly, I did not own this for very long and ended up returning it shortly after purchasing it. The Samsung 990 PRO with Heatsink 2TB PCIe®4.0 NVMe™ M.2 SSD did not fit inside the enclosure due to the heatsink, but it would likely perform well if a heatsink wasn't attached.

It has a thermal pad but the thing still gets warm other than that ots preety amazong for what it does

This us a very useful item to have when installing a M.2 memory card for portable data storage and transfer.

This enclosure is incredibly fast and easy to set up. If you pair this enclosure with a 4×4 Gen Nvme SSD you will get 3x the speed of most external SSDs.

Worked great for a transfer device moving from a smaller ssd to a larger one. Not sure the longevity of using it as an actual hub that is constantly plugged in.
