Easy to use. I almost didn't get this due to other reviews about the little clip on the inside. If you follow the instructions though, you shouldn't have any problems.

I've bought a few of these so that I can pull an old computer "hard drive" and continue to use the files on the said old computer. Used both this style and physical HD casings with good success. I have recommended this sort of set up to others who are loosing their computer to age or other reasons.

Good speeds, easyto handle .One thing what is at fault unless i have a case fan directly on it the temp at idle runs about 50 c and when using jumps up to 60+ very fast.Have tried wd, ,crucial etc and they are the same heat wise .Got it on sale so it was worth it,though you get what you pay foras i have sabrent cases that cost double and temps are 40s at peak.

My wife's computer had died due to a faulty power port. I had been begging her for months to let me backup her system before the problem became critical. Well... she didn't. Nonetheless, I needed to configure her new laptop with all of her old files. This enclosure was exactly what I needed! I removed the C: drive from the old laptop and used the enclosure to copy files to the new one. The USB-C connection was very fast. Now I'm using the old system disk as a portable 1TB external disk. A win-win in my book. ;-)

It works well, but the price is a little exaggerated, for the number of options on the market

Works Great! Note, use the cable that comes with it. Only mistake i did was to use my own USB-C cable and try to save the one that came with it. I have so many, but I did know most of the ones i have, are just for powering up devices and they do not do data transfer. So, if you are sure yours can do data transfer then you are fine.

while the item looks and works fine I couldn't keep it as it was showing up on my computer as the Best Buy drive instead off SSD brand which not allowed me to use the migration software provided by the SSD manufacturer

The Insignia enclosure is a basic SSD enclosure without the bells and whistles. It does perform its intended function, yet I found that when in continuous use, it does become very hot to the touch. I get that the drive will run hot, but without any constant airflow I was concerned that it may damage the drive itself; not knowledgeable enough to say if that is likely or not. Overall, for the price and what I needed it for (transferring from one computer to another), it is a good product.

This thing is a life saver. I bought a new internal and external SSD from crucial. The crucial X9 portable came with acronis cloning software and both were junk. The software left important files behind and then it took me forever to get my files out of the X9. The X9 lasted about 3 days and bricked. I get this for dirt cheap put my old SSD in it and I'm back in business. Not only this thing a life saver, it's FAST. If only I would have known, I would have got this first. The brand has been around forever and it deserves the A rating quite easily. Thank You Insignia!

Worked Great! Was having issues with my new Dell computer so took the hard drive out to get some files. Easy to put the Hard Drive in this and it worked flawlessly.

I complained to Best Buy but they wanted me to come back to the store which was kinda a hassle. I didn't particularly NEED the adapter, but it might be handy someday. I haven't done any official speed tests, but for my first NVME external on a gen3, it seems pretty good.

I used this adapter for cloning my old SSD to a new one. This is an easy product to use and has a quality feel to it. However I recommend not placing the thermal pad inside the case until you are done switching your SSDs around, as it may cause the case to get stuck shut and tear up the thermal pad trying to get it unstuck.

Transfer rates are good, but kindof flimsy, and not too easy to assemble. Locking tab doesn't work well.

One of those things you don’t know you need until you do

So my friend gave me his old internal SSD, but forgot to wipe it so this product did exactly that I was able to plug it in. It pulled up on my computer and I was able to clear it off and even transfer my old SSD memory to the new one it came with everything you need very easy instructions.
