Excellent for adding storage to older boards with les NVME slots. max speed is 700MBps in my testing so its perfect for files!

Life saver! My desktop died and I was able to save all my info from my nvme with this item, without having to go to a place and pay through the nose for recovery. Definitely recommend!

I picked up a M.2 drive on clearance and figured use it as a travel drive. Best buy had the enclosure for a great price and figured I'd take a chance. Works like a charm, easy to install then plug and use.

Discovered upon taking a laptop apart to dispose and remove the drive, I found a M.2 NVMe drive/storage unit. First time I ever came across one. I have a docking station that can handle all the other drives out there, but cannot handle this one. Took the old M.2 NVMe out and wanted to use for storage in the future. This little unit does the job at a reasonable price.

It works like a charm. I have been using this for over a year now and it is really reliable.

Well built but lacking adequate heat dispersion. Had to replace it with a different enclosure with better heat dispersion. I can only recommend it for SSDs that are used for semi-active storage.

I recently upgraded my drive using an image file, and decided to turn the spare into an external hard drive, and also to have the Insignia NVMe SSD Enclosure ready for the next drive-drive upgrade instead of file copy. The enclosure worked with my Samsung PM981a pulled from a Windows 11 Lenovo ThinkPad. It's made from thick aluminum acting as the heatsink, and my drive stays within heat limits during use. Included is the toolless enclosure, thermal pad, USB-C to USB-C cable, and USB-C to USB-A adapter. If you've cloned the drives and can't see the external drive, or receive a "Disk offline because it has signature collision with another disk online" error, this may be because the main drive and cloned drive both have the same ID. Open disk management and right click on the offline drive to turn it "online", Windows will assign a new ID to clear the error, and the external should now appear. I'm hoping this will be a long lasting external drive for backup storage, and recommend it as a cost effective upgrade to make an external drive.

Got this to hot swap some old/extra NVMe SSDs I have from old PC’s to be able to reformat them easily and reuse as transportable and/or backup device. Easy to install, use, seems good quality. Very handy.

Easy to use for SSD. Well worth the cost, just what I was looking for.

Bought this to get into a friend's dead relative's Nvme drive. It worked perfectly, felt sturdy, and had shock absorbing padding. I was impressed!

It seems to work better than the one the computer store sold more; it is worth the extra price. I like the heat conducting slab though not sure I installed it properly. The enclosure is usually cool in operation and I have not experienced throttling. The one issue I had was the white plastic lock engages in a confusing manner and is easy to lose, but you can assemble without it (maybe it is essential only for certain drive sizes).

I purchased this enclosure for another while removing an NVMe SSD from their formerly updated but now outdated computer. The drive is still good so it is now additional external storage for them. I tested it after adding the SSD to the encloser and it worked very well.

My old Dell laptop processed it's last flicker of light the end of last month. I bought a new Dell at Best Buy and decided I would keep the old memory as a back-up. I bought the Insignia enclosure to house the Memory and re-use it as spare storage if necessary. I installed the old memory, closed it up and put in a port and booted up the new box. Worked like a charm!!!!! THanks Best Buy for advising me on the new laptop and a very solution to having a reliable backup copy of everything on the old box!!!!!!
