Doesn't have very good grip for the 3.5 or the 1/4 end. I use Sennhieser HD6xx and a JDS Labs headphone amp. After just three months the headphone would stop working until I messed with the connection. Gave up bought a sennheiser version for 10 bucks on Amazon and now I don't have an issue.

So it has to be at a certain place to work

I'm using it in the same 1/4" jack where I've used a two-way headphone splitter in the past that worked fine. (I've just moved it to another application so I needed to replace it.) And I'm plugging in the same device into the 1/8" jack on this adapter. But if I don't position the cable exactly right, I get an annoying buzz. I bought two of these and get the same results with both, so it's a design flaw. Going to look elsewhere for a replacement.
