I needed something that would work for my Thunderbolt 2 ports and enable me to connect to a TV or monitor using an HDMI cable. This adapter has met my needs and works fantastically. I haven't had any display issues or flickers. And I felt like compared to other options on the market, this was very affordable.

It does that wonderfully. Used it on my 2012 iMac when I needed to hook it up to a projector. Original purpose was to use this for TargetDisplayMode on the 2012 iMac in order to use the iMac as a monitor form my Windows PC. THAT does not work! You'll need an actual dedicated Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable in order to do that, no M-DP to HDMI either!

It doesn’t work remarkably well I do recommend it especially since it’s pretty easy to connect and install. It’s a mess by special if you plan to make your laptop into a desktop.
