We were trying to connect our wave radio aux port to our tv and this was the product to use. Works great and awsome sound.

It works good except; I had to reset it by unplugging and re-plugging to make it work after the first use. I don't always use my stereo for sound, but I like it for movies. I got it working right after purchase but did not use it for about a week then when I switched over to stereo, no sound. I spent time thinking it was my TV (new SONY OLED). Converter power light was on. I decided to try the old reset (unplug and plug) and that worked. I am a little bummed that I had to go through that. Not sure why it needs to be reset after non use.

This product was just what I needed to hook up my lcd tv to my analog stereo. It was so easy to install and the sound is incredible.

I am still stuck in the stone age with a two channel receiver (Yamaha R-S202BL) and bookshelf speakers (Elac Debut 2.0) for my AVR setup. I recently purchased a new Samsung 65" Q8f 4K television which has all the connections needed, however my receiver has no HDMI. Fortunately the receiver has optical audio output. This is where the Insignia converter comes into play, such that I am able to connect the tv to my old school audio setup because of the converter.

My old system used only rca plugs. To work with my new Hisense, I needed an optical splitter to go to my Bose soundbar and one line to my stereo. This unit did it perfectly

Plug in your connections and go! I also used this in conjunction with Cat5 adapters to extend the length of my audio cable. Works like a charm.

This was a very inexpensive purchase that allowed me to continue using my older stereo equipment with my new TV.

Needed to adapt my older Bose Sound Dock 10 to be compatible with Optical output on new LED TV. This did the trick. Very easy to set up.

Hooked right up to the digital audio out & had to buy the cable separate. and everything worked perfect , good quality sound.

My wife is hard of hearing and at nighttime she has to have the sound on the TV turned up really loud. I bought a speaker and a transmitter so she could have the sound next to her on the pillow. It worked great at home so I tried to duplicate it at the cottage. Unfortunately the TV at the cottage did not support this connection and I needed to purchase a converter to go from coaxial to analog. This did the trick and she can now have a speaker right next to her and the sound is now at a manageable level.

Using this DAC for my personal desktop computer. Surprised how good it does for playback of ripped CDs. The DAC feeds an analog integrated amplifier. I purchased this item as a temporary solution after a DAC Magic Plus I had stopped working. It's a keeper; the sound it puts out is excellent.

I brought this to hook up my son's PS4 to a game chair and it worked great. Easy hookup from optical input right into audio input.

Was easy to connect the converter. Now we have a range of sound for our flat screen. Great enhancement for warching football,

Functionly it meets all requirements. However, you can purchase similar items on the internet, at more than 50% less in price; these items will have the same quality as the best Buy item. Best Buy should really consider adjusting its price on this item to match--more or less--- the same items in price on the internet. If they did this, my guess is that the sales volume of this item would dramatically increase.

works great for connecting older equipment to newer

Our LG 24-inch kitchen TV does not have great sound. It also does not have audio out, only digital S/PDIF (optical) out. So we use this -- the Insignia Optical/Coaxial Digital-to-Analog converter -- to connect our TV to our Bose SoundTouch 10. When we think about it, we actually spend more time watching TV in the kitchen than in our living room so having great sound in the kitchen is a big plus in our lives.

This is great for wireless headphones that need a jack to plug in the base of wireless headphones into a tv. Our 65" tv curved screen didn't have one, so instead of going out and paying $100-$300 for another set of headphones got this and cord. Spent less than $50.00 total and got to keep my favorite headphones. Great for anyone that needs to convert a product that needs a plug in for headphones because they upgraded to a larger tv and want to use their headphones

Hooked an Apple tv to an old tv with no HDMI used hdmi to dvi cable without any sound. This device fixed me right up.
